       REDPEAFOWL, Chapter 8: Grandpa Kong

The resort booked in the name of Lu Yipeng had a car waiting to pick him up at the airport. But before that, Lu Yipeng had to serve as Hong Kongque’s bag boy, which he couldn’t avoid.

“Little Pengpeng, lift the bag a little for me.” Hong Kongque said, leaning against the bag and casually placing it in front of Lu Yipeng, who had just taken his own bag from the conveyor belt.

“You have hands, lift it yourself.”

Hong Kongque turned to him with a disapproving look, even though his hands were still on the bag, “Little Pengpeng, your heart is too kind to let the bag be lifted by someone else. What if Grandpa Kong breaks a bone carrying such a heavy bag? People will think you are not taking good care of me.”

Lu Yipeng glanced at Hong Kongque, “Why do I suddenly feel that you have aged overnight? Normally, I see you as a twenty-year-old.”

“That one, Pengpeng.” Hong Kongque said without adding more, but pointed at the big brown-red travel bag passing in front of Lu Yipeng. Lu Yipeng hesitated for a moment before reluctantly reaching out to lift it up.

“There you go.” Lu Yipeng grunted before hoisting the bag in person who was leaning against the bag. The bag was heavy and cumbersome, which made

Hong Kongque grunt, “Please deliver it neatly.” He said. He then took a small step forward, lifted the bag and placed it beside him.

“Did you put a rock in there?” Lu Yipeng joked, because the size and weight were not like a bag for a single person traveling for just two or three days.

Hong Kongque did not respond, but instead floated some words out, “Little Pengpeng, you are just a young age, yet you are already complaining about carrying heavy bags like this. Why are you whiny, unlike a top student in the police cadet honor class?”

Lu Yipeng scoffed in response, “I may be a top student. It’s not my responsibility to carry your bag for you.”

“Hmm… speaking dryly, but with a truly sincere heart.” Hong Kongque said, with a disappointed expression. Then, he exerted force to kick the bag towards Lu Yipeng immediately.

“Kongque!” Lu Yipeng exclaimed and quickly used his hand to stop the bag before stepping back, leaving Hong Kongque looking disappointed, “What now, Little Pengpeng, you near fall with just this? What did your self-defense class teach you?”

Lu Yipeng really wanted to throw the bag at Hong Kongque’s head for real,

“I’m sorry I’m not as skilled a kungfu master like you.”

Hong Kongque chuckled lightly, “Pengpeng, if you are willing to beg and plead nicely, this old man might just teach you.”

Lu Yipeng glanced at the person chuckling before grabbing both bags and walking away quickly.

The luxury resort booked was even more luxurious than in the photos. It had an ambiance of privacy, resembling a home in itself. Lu Yipeng had forgotten all his previous frustrations as he entered the room and saw the clear glass wall with a view of the emerald green sea. In front was a sea-view pavilion, followed by a small private swimming pool. As he walked further, he found a bedroom with a glass wall providing a view of the sea as well, and a bathroom with a transparent glass shower.

“Wow…” Lu Yipeng exclaimed excitedly. He opened the glass door, feeling the sea breeze and the salty mist coming in. As he turned to go back in, he saw Hong Kongque sitting tiredly on the long sofa in the living room, looking weary and worn out even though he hadn’t done anything at all.

“Kongque. Have you been here before?” Lu Yipeng asked when he saw the person lying down with a tired expression, as if they had visited often but didn’t seem familiar. Hong Kongque shook his head, “No, this is my first time.”

This time, the young police officer frowned immediately, “Then why do you look so indifferent?”

“Should I run around and dance in circles for you, then.” Hong Kongque retorted, l Lu Yipeng looked at him for a moment before deciding to immerse himself in the good atmosphere and forget about the annoying bird for a while. The young man then walked outside and gazed down at the sea, where the waves shimmered under the sun’s reflection.

Standing for a while, Hong Kongque walked in with two glasses of wine in hand. I don’t know when he ordered them. When Lu Yipeng turned around, he saw him holding them. Hong Kongque quietly handed the wine glasses to the young police officer before leaning against the railing of the pavilion and sipping the wine in the glass.

Lu Yipeng just noticed that Hong Kongque had taken off his suit jacket. Not only did he let the shirt hang out of his pants, but he also unbuttoned the shirt until he revealed the white chest inside. He stared for a while, not knowing how long. He realized when Hong Kongque raised his head and asked, “What’s up?”

“Nothing.” Lu Yipeng quickly denied and looked away immediately. He told himself that this was not the first time he had been with this guy, but he never easily fell for his charm.

Was Hong Kongque hitting on him?!

Apart from flirting shamelessly, Lu Yipeng never thought that Hong Kongque could hit on him in another way. Indeed, every time something happened between them, Hong Kongque was the one who initiated it. He was always the one who matched their emotions and it seemed like this was the first time that side showed such a gesture in front of him. Hong Kongque never unbuttoned his own shirt or showed such a vulnerable posture…

When Lu Yipeng turned his face away, Hong Kongque had already walked out of the room. He was in a bathrobe. Then he slowly took it off, revealing a red peacock tattoo on his back, showing up clearly and vividly, Lu Yipeng sighed for a moment. When the peacock disappeared into the water, he sighed in relief.

This was the first time Lu Yipeng had the chance to see Hong Kongque bathing so clearly. Hong Kongque was not too thin nor too bulky. He had a proportionate and beautiful muscular body. When he moved in the water, it seemed to bring that red peacock tattoo to life.

Water droplets clinging to his body, reflecting the sunlight as it slowly descended, created a strangely enchanting image. Hong Kongque leaned against the edge of the pool, letting the water drip from the tips of his hair before raising his head to look at the person standing on the pavilion, and giving a slight smile at the corner of his lips.

Lu Yipeng blushed and escaped immediately. He could feel his heart beating rapidly in his chest.

Oh my, just a peacock swimming in the water!

The young police officer was hesitant to describe his feelings before hearing the sound of water again. As he turned back, he saw the red peacock emerge from the water.

The red wine in Lu Yipeng’s glass was not as diminished as much. He hesitated to touch it again, probably afraid of being drugged as before. However, Hong Kongque had already finished his third glass. He half-sat, halflay comfortably on the long chair. Wearing a bathrobe, he lazily unbuttoned his shirt until his chest and upper abdomen muscles were visible. Slightly pale soft skin seemed ready to emerge from the folds shirt.

Hong Kongque swirled the wine in the glass, lifted it slightly to his nose, then sipped it down. His face darkened slightly, as the sunlight gradually weakened. He heard the seabirds singing the farewell evening song, welcoming the dark night that was about to come.

Hong Kongque’s dark, sparkling eyes were like eternity, like onyx. Whenever he looked up, Lu Yipeng felt his heart skip a beat. Normally, when they were together, just the two of them… No, even with other people around, in their own world, Hong Kongque would use his eyes to caress him. Otherwise, he would be unnerving and talkative, focusing on them, touching his body and mind repeatedly. But now, Hong Kongque said nothing, not even looking directly into his eyes. Just glancing occasionally. That alone made Lu Yipeng feel more restless than ever before. Finally, the young man placed the wine glass down and walked back to the room.

Lu Yipeng reappeared in his swimwear, ready to jump into the pool, thinking that the water might calm him down. Meanwhile, Hong Kongque stood on the balcony of the pavilion. His dark eyes were staring at him, accompanied by a sly smile at the corner of his mouth. Both looked at each other like that for a while. After a moment, Hong Kongque moved, walked into the pavilion. Lu Yipeng followed suit. Then he smelled the delicious food.

The food at the resort was not bad, but Lu Yipeng thought he might be suffering from a nervous breakdown because instead of looking at the food, his eyes wandered to the slender legs and the hint of chest under Hong Kongque’s bathrobe. Or maybe there was something in this food?

At the same time, Hong Kongque, who normally had to look at him with a

critical eye, sat quietly and neatly ate, as if he had become a different person. Although Lu Yipeng was also wearing a bathrobe and eating like him, maybe in this food…

At last, the young policeman couldn’t resist and had to speak out, “What did you put in the food, Kongque?”

Hong Kongque raised his eyebrows and looked at him with curiosity before responding, “Oh, Pengpeng, you feel your heart beating faster than usual, don’t you?”

Lu Yipeng squinted at the man in front of him before quickly speaking up,

“No. I was just wondering, usually a pervert like you who stare at me like you do end up trying to harm me. Why did you sit so calmly today? I suspect there might be some kind of medication in the food.”

Hong Kongque chuckled, “Maybe it’s a good medicine after all. Normally, you like to avoid me at all costs, but today you keep staring. I thought I’d let you stare a bit. If I look back at you, you might be less startled and run away again.”

Lu Yipeng’s face turned red immediately, but he still resisted speaking further, “I was just wondering. How much did you pay for the complete plastic surgery?”

Hong Kongque smirked, “Don’t be like that, Pengpeng. You’re making excuses. Don’t try to accuse others like this. You should know better than anyone that I’m sincere. Do you believe me or not?”

He finished speaking and smiled mischievously, causing Lu Yipeng to clench his teeth, not knowing how to respond. Finally, he bowed his head and looked at the empty plate, hearing Hong Kongque chuckling in the background.

They ate in silence until Hong Kongque finished his meal, then he handed Lu Yipeng the plate to stack together as usual. He then went out to enjoy the breeze at the small gazebo in front, leaving Lu Yipeng waiting alone, thinking about what to do next.

Hong Kongque returned with a puzzled look on his face before smiling. As the young policeman walked over to stand beside him, the wind blew his shirt, revealing a smooth white shoulder. Lu Yipeng recalled the color of his skin this year. How many times had he actually touched Hong Kongque’s body? Very few times, really.

“Not drinking wine after dinner, huh?” Lu Yipeng asked, breaking the silence, as he felt that the quiet atmosphere was becoming too tense.

“Just a little sip.” The other person answered. Lu Yipeng stood staring for a while before walking back into the room, and returned with two glasses of wine.

“I didn’t put anything in it.” Lu Yipeng continued, seeing Hong Kongque staring at him without blinking. The latter smiled, and then replied, “So you didn’t prepare some nerve-calming potion to make me confess, did you?”

Lu Yipeng locked eyes with him immediately, “I don’t use dirty tricks like you do.”

The listener chuckled, pleased, “You think planning to deceive me is not harmful?”

Lu Yipeng wanted to jump and bite Hong Kongque for real. How can someone who plans to harm others not realize he is not any different himself! “Kongque.” Standing up to receive some air, Lu Yipeng spoke again, “Why do you call yourself Hong Kongque?”

“Why not? Sounds good, doesn’t it?” Hong Kongque asked back, closing his eyes in a patient and restrained manner, “I’m asking you nicely. Can you answer nicely too?”

A throaty chuckle was heard, “I like it.”

Lu Yipeng raised his hand to stroke his face, hoping for a good answer.

Dealing with this nerve-wracking bird was really difficult.

“Kongque, has the red peafowl on your back been there for a long time?”

“Long before you were born.” Hong Kongque replied, then asked back,

    “Why, want to have one?”

The person standing next shook his head, “How old were you when you got tattooed?”

“I won’t tell. Otherwise, you’ll have to call me ‘Grandpa Kong’.” Hong Kongque said, as Lu Yipeng turned to him immediately, “I don’t want to be called ‘elder’ like you.”

“What’s wrong with being called ‘elder’ like me?” Hong Kongque asked back immediately, and leaned in close to Lu Yipeng, staring at his face for a moment before speaking out, “The problem lies with you being the one called ‘the elder’.”

Hong Kongque chuckled in satisfaction before shifting his face to dodge the hand of Lu Yipeng that was reaching out. After they both sipped their wine for a while, Hong Kongque spoke again.

“Little Pengpeng, this elder is ready to bathe. Come and scrub my back.”

Lu Yipeng looked as if he was staring straight at someone as if he was about to strangle them, but before he could say anything, Hong Kongque chuckled and walked away into the room.

The jacuzzi bathtub was positioned outside the room, partially covered and somewhat open to the elements. It could be considered semi-exposed, as the front was facing the sea, and the sides were shielded by walls and trees. Even though it was semi-exposed, there was no need to worry about anyone peeking.

Hong Kongque was lying in the bathtub, wearing his swim trunks. He rested his arms on the edge of the tub and supported his chin. He had his back turned out, intending to show off the tattoo on his back with a colorful peacock. When he saw Lu Yipeng walking in, he called out, “Little Pengpeng, finally you are here. Rub my back please.”

Lu Yipeng raised an eyebrow, then glanced at the figure lying in the tub for a moment before speaking, “You said you didn’t like anyone looking at the tattoo on your back.”

“Um.” Hong Kongque cleared his throat and smiled at the corner of his mouth, “There’s nobody here who can look.”

Lu Yipeng stood staring at Hong Kongque, while the other person seemed unfazed. The young police officer thought about seizing this opportunity to investigate the belongings of the Peafowl man, hoping to find something illegal. However, the room and the bathtub were visible from each other, and Hong Kongque left all his belongings in plain sight. No matter how much he wanted to investigate, the opportunity was not right. So Lu Yipeng thought it would be best to ask Hong Kongque first.

“Pengpeng.” called Hong Kongque again when he saw the other person standing still, “Standing there like that, aren’t you feeling cold? If you don’t use it often it will rust.”

“That’s you, take care of yourself, you have a long lifespan, be careful if you do not hold back and overuse it.” Lu Yipeng responded immediately, the person being chided chuckled softly, “Pengpeng, are you worried about me? Then come down and rub on my back a little.”

Lu Yipeng continued to stand there stubbornly until Hong Kongque bathed comfortably. He then spoke up, “Take care of rubbing my back. Sometimes you might hear something interesting. It’s possible.”

“What is it?” Lu Yipeng asked immediately. Hong Kongque smiled slightly at the corner of his mouth and continued, “I don’t know, my back is sore, so I can’t think of anything. Maybe after the backrub I might think of something.”

Just a moment ago he motioned for a rub on his back, now he is egging me on!

Lu Yipeng stood squatting in one corner. He took a step into the tub. It’s not certain whether he was captivated by the red peacock, he might be able to ask something or not. He no longer played tough with the guy because trying to softly massage could have an effect.

The young policeman removed his bathrobe and stepped into the tub. The soft colored light drove the red peacock even redder. As he stepped into the tub, Lu Yipeng leaned against Hong Kongque, as the tub was not very wide. As the two men, not small in size, soaked together, their skin touched automatically.

Hong Kongque turned his face to look at him, then moaned in his throat, “Um…

    Pengpeng.”

Lu Yipeng moved closer, hearing the loud water sound, and then reached out to massage the red peacock on the back. Hong Kongque nodded, and closed his eyes with satisfaction.

After massaging for a while, Lu Yipeng leaned close to the person sleeping with closed eyes and whispered, “Kongque. Do you have any siblings?”

The young police officer thought to wait for the guy to speak first. He was not certain if Hong Kongque would fall asleep during the massage, or spill something that annoys him. So to keep questioning would be better.

The person being asked raised their eyes before speaking, “I used to, but actually, they are not true siblings.”

“Huh?” Lu Yipeng raised an eyebrow in surprise. Hong Kongque continued, “Many kids have no parents, but trying to ask for my history, is a low even for you inspector, I don’t know my own early life history. How would you know?”

Lu Yipeng was stunned for a moment. Hong Kongque was an orphan? Then the siblings were probably foster siblings. Just as he was about to ask further, he saw the glance that he understood before and quickly changed the subject, “No.

I just noticed that you’re alone all this time.”

Hong Kongque smiled at the corner of his mouth, “Then Inspector Lu, you are my friend.”

Lu Yipeng looked puzzled and tried to chuckle, “No, I’m a police officer.”

The black eyes glared at him seductively, “Not sure, move in with me, maybe you can find evidence to catch me faster. Are you interested or not?”

“Do you want me to arrest you or what?” Lu Yipeng replied while backing off. Hong Kongque smiled again, then replied, “I like you Inspector Lu. I might want to be caught by you.” And finished speaking while lifting his chin challengingly. The young policeman gritted his teeth and responded.

“Then let me arrest you tonight.” Lu Yipeng said, moving closer and making a gesture as if he was really going to grab Hong Kongque. The person being threatened raised their face up, smiling slyly as they looked into his eyes, “What charge are you going to arrest me for?”

Lu Yipeng did not answer. He just realized that he had moved in too close. As Hong Kongque turned his face, their noses almost touched. Without knowing why, they both felt a strange sensation. Hong Kongque’s arm wrapped around his neck, pulling his head closer. The strong and deep passionate kiss continued, almost leaving no space for air to pass between them. Both sides pressed their lips together as if they were trying to swallow each other’s sighs.

The friction of their skin against each other sent a hot, tingling sensation through their bodies. Lu Yipeng pushed Hong Kongque against the edge of the sink, sliding his hand down to caress the bare skin. Before pulling him in closer for another intense kiss, Lu Yipeng moved his lips to the chin, earlobes, neck, and then traced his fingers up to the soft pink lips of the other person. Hearing

Hong Kongque chuckle, Lu Yipeng paused and moved his lips to seal Hong Kongque’s lips once again, as if not wanting that part to speak.

“Little Pengpeng, you should stop yourself.”

Confused, Lu Yipeng raised his face to look, his sharp features now turned bright red. His lips swollen from the forceful kiss, his dark eyes twinkling in the soft light. Hong Kongque raised a hand to lightly cover his lips and smiled gently, “Today, I want to relax. Little Pengpeng, be patient for a while.”

After speaking, he got up from the sink like a fish, and Lu Yipeng hurried to grab him but it was too late. The young man got up quickly and was about to follow him. Seeing Hong Kongque turn back, smiling and teasingly saying,

“Pengpeng, you should not overuse it, save some for later, .”

Lu Yipeng was still standing in shock, looking at Hong Kongque’s hips in swim trunks for a moment. He finally bent down to look at himself, and that was the moment the young police officer regained his senses.

Alarmed, he quickly grabbed his bathrobe and put it on before rushing inside.

As soon as Lu Yipeng saw Hong Kongque walking towards him, who was wiping his hair in front of the mirror, he spoke up again, “You can’t make your hard-on go away?”

Lu Yipeng glanced at the person speaking before responding, “It’s none of your business.”

The young police officer, both embarrassed and confused, Hong Kongque would usually not miss an opportunity like this, even if there was no chance he would actually manage to tease him into submission, so why did he stop in the middle of it today? Did this guy intend to tease him to death or something?

    Hmm…

“Kongque.” Lu Yipeng spoke up. After calming down and changing clothes, Hong Kongque, who was sitting up straight on the chair, looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

“I’ve decided to stop playing these crazy games with you. We both need some rest separately now.”

The person listened and chuckled, “Are you sulking, Little Pengpeng?”

Lu Yipeng glanced at him for a moment, then lay down on the bed, “I’m going to sleep now. Turn off the lights, please.” After saying this, he tucked himself under the blanket, closed his eyes, and shortly after, heard the sound of the light switch turning off, and the bed on the other side sank down.

    “Pengpeng.”

Well, dream on, don’t expect me to respond to anything tonight.

    Freaking peacock.

Hong Kongque moved closer, Lu Yipeng felt the warm sigh of wind on his cheek, and even a hand which ran along his cheek. While the young police officer tried to stay still, keeping in mind that no matter how Hong Kongque pushed, he would not give in so as to make this guy realize something. After rubbing against him for a while, Hong Kongque got up, and spoke in a relaxed tone, “Goodnight, Little Pengpeng.”

This time, Lu Yipeng was truly stunned, trying to sleep with his eyes closed tightly. Now, he had to sneak a peek to see if Hong Kongque was really asleep or not. It turned out that Hong Kongque was actually sleeping, lying comfortably with his eyes closed. He was the one without any sort of care, looking as if he was sleeping peacefully. Lu Yipeng turned his face back, and told himself that this was good. He was finally going to be able to sleep peacefully.

Lying in bed, Lu Yipeng still couldn’t fall asleep. Instead, he found himself lying next to Hong Kongque, staring into space. He was exhausted, both physically and mentally, from his long day. Suddenly, an idea struck him, and he began to brainstorm, his young detective mind working in overdrive. Despite telling himself to stay rational, a sense of anger and frustration crept over him, making it hard to relax. Eventually, unable to bear it any longer, he got up from his bed.

“…” Hong Kongque lay motionless on the bed, seemingly still asleep.

Whether he was truly asleep or pretending, Lu Yipeng couldn’t tell. Sitting up, he gritted his teeth and pondered for a moment. He decided to give in and follow through with his original plan. Today, he had learned one thing – questioning Hong Kongque was like chasing a slippery criminal.

Looking through the glass window into the room, Lu Yipeng saw Hong

Kongque lying on the bed. Not sure if he was actually asleep or just pretending, Lu Yipeng sat silently, trying to gauge the situation. He then devised a plan in his mind. Unable to question him directly, he decided to take advantage of the opportunity presented by Hong Kongque’s supposed sleeplessness. He quietly decided to investigate the belongings of this man, starting with the passport.

At the airport, Lu Yipeng noticed Hong Kongque tucking his passport in his suit pocket. After passing through security, he knew that fake passports were a common item among lawbreakers at this level. The airport officials rarely checked for them unless there was a specific alert. However, if they did come across a passport with a name matching that on the wanted list, they would check further. Lu Yipeng was certain Hong Kongque’s passport was fake. However, if it turned out to be real, he would finally discover the truth about the mysterious guy.

With a sense of determination, Lu Yipeng quietly entered the room. He started by searching through Hong Kongque’s suit, looking for any hidden passport. He rummaged through the jacket pocket, where he found a secret compartment. To his surprise, he discovered that the guy’s suit had more hidden compartments than a normal suit, piquing his curiosity about what the doctor might be carrying. Guns? Drugs? Ammunition? Secret weapons?

Lu Yipeng searched diligently, but to his dismay, he found nothing. Not even a shred of paper or a toothpick.

Lu Yipeng aimed towards the red travel bag. What is that red suitcase? It seems heavy with those stones, but when going through the scanner, there was no mention of anything. Must be just clothes. Why bring so much for just three or four days, or is there something hidden in the clothes?

Lu Yipeng gradually approached the bag, before trying to turn the lock code.

Darn it, what numbers does that bird’s nest use to lock the bag?

While trying to guess the code to unlock the bag, Lu Yipeng felt a shock when he sensed someone standing behind him. When he turned around, he saw Hong Kongque standing there with arms crossed.

    “Pengpeng, what are you doing?”

Lu Yipeng swallowed nervously before speaking seriously, “Um… I heard something moving in the bag, so I wondered if there was something inside.”

“Oh, did you find anything?” Hong Kongque said with a slight smile. Lu

Yipeng looked confused, “I don’t know. I tried to open the bag but couldn’t, and

I didn’t want to bother you. You seemed comfortable sleeping there.”

“Um… yeah. I was just getting some rest.” Hong Kongque said and continued with a serious face, “And I dreamt that someone was trying to steal my bag, so I woke up.”

“Oh… that’s a bad dream, haha.” The young man chuckled. Hong Kongque looked at him and smiled, “But it’s okay. There are police here, I’ll report it later in the daily log.”

“Okay, I’ll go get the diary then.” Lu Yipeng decided to go with the flow. It had come to this point, no matter how he tried to explain, he wouldn’t be able to escape.

“Here, use this.” Hong Kongque said, handing him the notebook and pen. Lu

Yipeng took it and looked serious, “What do you need to report?”

“Um… there’s a thief trying to steal my bag.” Hong Kongque said. Lu Yipeng then asked for more details, “Give me the details.”

“He looks similar to you. I think we should arrest him.” Before he could even finish his words, Lu Yipeng heard a click from his left wrist.

    Once again…

Hong Kongque smiled mischievously and casually moved his right hand with the handcuff attached, “Alright, let’s go to bed, officer. I think the thief won’t dare to come back now.” With that, he put the handcuff key back in his pocket. Lu Yipeng only blinked his eyes, then smiled wryly before reluctantly walking to the bed.

Hong Kongque let him climb onto the bed first, and then sat down beside him. He then spoke with a smile, “Good evening, Pengpeng. If you want to get up and take a walk later, wake me up.”

Lu Yipeng quickly slipped under the blanket and closed his eyes immediately, even though his hands were handcuffed

    Not this again! Damn it!!!

Hong Kongque actually brought a real cup this time (is “actually brought” a good fit??) The vacation continued as planned, and we felt like those four days and three nights were really long between Pengpeng and the person writing this.

Who will die first, I wonder.

They get along so well!!!!! If Lu Yipeng were to encounter such a scenario for real, he should definitely resign from the police force (these two are together, stirring up all the evilness together as one big lump)

       REDPEAFOWL, Chapter 7: The Trip

Lu Yipeng has been working for five years and has never taken a day off until he has used up all of his available vacation days. This young police officer has never taken a break and almost always works more hours than anyone else, until everyone calls him the diligent officer of the department.

But how many people know that deep down, Lu Yipeng himself also wants to take a break, to relax and unwind like everyone else. The problem is…

“Pengpeng, do you want to go to the beach this summer?” Hong Kongque, sitting on the leather chair in the reception room, asked him with a smirk while flipping through a travel magazine in his hand. Lu Yipeng raised his eyebrows, then got up immediately.

“I’m leaving.” The young police officer jumped up, and Hong Kongque sent people to follow him from work, thinking that something else had gone wrong.

Who would want to go on a trip with this pervert?

“Why not, Pengpeng, don’t you like the beach? Then how about climbing a mountain with me?”

“I’m not going anywhere with you.” Lu Yipeng spoke out. He couldn’t leave the room because as soon as he got up, the two tall muscular male servants walked in and blocked his way. The two bodyguards were loyal to their order, but the most terrifying was not these two, but the boss sitting arrogantly on a different chair

Lu Yipeng didn’t want to deal with more trouble, so he reluctantly turned back and sat down as before. He saw Hong Kongque look worried.

“What’s the matter, we’ve known each other for many years, can’t you trust me enough to go on a trip with me again?”

Lu Yipeng looked at him immediately, “Who would trust someone like you.”

Hong Kongque looked sad and spoke softly, “I just want you to take a break. Pengpeng, you have worked hard for many years and looks tired and worn out like a person in his seventies.”

Lu Yipeng wanted to say that it was because of this crazy peafowl that made me look so worn out, but speaking out might not be good and might get me in trouble. Since this doctor is mentally unstable, the young police officer decided to calm down and answer calmly, “I just want to relax at home more.”

As soon as Hong Kongque saw that Pengpeng was about to say something, he quickly spoke up, “Alone, alone. I want to be alone.”

Hong Kongque looked at him for a moment before letting out a sigh of disappointment, “So Pengpeng, you want to be alone again this year. Don’t you want to have someone to accompany you?”

Lu Yipeng narrowed his eyes at the man in front of him. It was because Hong Kongque spoke like this every year that his days off were never used. Lu Yipeng was afraid that he would be more exhausted than usual. He would rather work at the office than live with this troublesome guy. Directing traffic and chasing after criminals were more enjoyable than dealing with him.

When Hong Kongque saw the young police officer giving him a hungry look, he pretended to flap his wings like a bird on a wire without anyone playing along. He then took out two pieces of paper.

“I just want you to have a break. Here, it’s a flight ticket and a resort in Phuket for four days and three nights. Booked under your name. Invite whoever you want to go with. I will give it to you.”

Lu Yipeng looked at the two tickets that were handed to him for a long time, until he heard another person speak up, “Take it. It’s not poisoned, is it?”

That’s when the young police officer reached out and took it, finding that both tickets were indeed in his name. This time, Lu Yipeng raised his head and looked at Hong Kongque with unexpected feelings.

“What are you planning this time?”

“Nothing. This time, I’m being serious.” Hong Kongque said, “I just want you to have a break. Being bothered by me for four years must be exhausting for you. Go on, go with a friend or a partner if you have one. If you do.”

Lu Yipeng made a face before handing back the tickets, “I am returning them to you. I appreciate your kindness.”

“Pengpeng.” Hong Kongque called out sternly, “When an elder gives you something, you should accept it. It’s common courtesy, no one taught you that?

    Honor student my foot.”

Lu Yipeng looked at him before reluctantly grabbing the two tickets and putting them in his pocket. This time, Hong Kongque spoke up again,

“Pengpeng, take the gift and take care of it. Otherwise, I’ll cut off your finger, so you won’t do anything stupid again.”

Lu Yipeng grumbled before nodding, then calmly slipped the two tickets into his shirt pocket. Hong Kongque smiled.

“Do not throw them away. I want you to go on a trip, relax a bit. There is a luxurious resort there. They offer relaxing massage services. If you want to know more details, open the website that I wrote for you. Otherwise, I’ll think that I deceived you again.”

Lu Yipeng glanced at the person in front of him for a moment, then replied,

“It’s not like you booked adjacent rooms again, is it?”

Hong Kong chuckled, “Hey, the rooms are separate. One behind the other, they look far apart, only you and the person you invite will be there. If you don’t believe it, go check it out for yourself. Call and ask. Oh, and don’t think I will impersonate a server or anything like that again, or I’ll cut that pretty head of yours, wash your brain, and put it back in, so you won’t think of anything strange. Haha.”

Lu Yipeng glared at the person in front of him for a moment before finally speaking up, “I’m not crazy to think like that. Don’t do anything and now, can I go back?”

“Go ahead, have fun relaxing.” Hong Kong said and waved his hands on both sides, Lu Yipeng looked at him for a moment and then got up, walked out, pondering what that cunningly planning bird was up to. It’s not like he wants to bother him, but why does a guy like him have to bother him?

Thinking about it, he didn’t really understand…

Lu Yipeng returned home, telling himself that Hong Kongque probably had some plan hidden. Those two tickets must have something hidden for sure. Tomorrow, he would have to send them to the evidence team, but when he picked them up, he saw the name of the resort, the address, and the website, the young detective just couldn’t resist verifying Hong Kongque’s words by himself, so he opened his computer and typed the website address.

This time, that cunning peafowl is probably telling the truth…

Lu Yipeng clicked on the details one by one, both the flight tickets and the hotel room were under his name. However, the young detective still thought there might be something hidden in this story. Tomorrow, he would have the evidence team find all the details, just in case there was something unexpected.

How trustworthy is the red peafowl?

With four years of experience with that guy, he should know better than anyone.

Even so, let him check all the details he can find before making any judgment.

Lu Yipeng clicked on the details of the resort for another while. It’s a luxurious five-star resort. It has a private swimming pool. It has a spa. It offers relaxing massage services. It has a private beach for swimming. There are sea activities like snorkeling or sailing to choose from. Just paying for one night’s stay could cost him almost a month’s salary. It is a vacation that looks so good it’s hard to believe for him, a real level mountain policeman. How many more years will it take him to save money to travel at this level?

Before he realized it was late, Lu Yipeng wanted to slap himself for real. He had been fooled by Hong Kongque again. Tomorrow at the evidence collection department, he might encounter something unpleasant about this trip. He should hurry to bed and prepare to handle it better.

But the private swimming pool in the room and the private beach are also interesting, as he won’t have to worry about leg scars. It’s been years since he traveled to the sea… If this time…

“Inspector Lu, the plane tickets and the accommodation you sent me to check. I’ve checked everything.” A forensic department officer walked into Lu

Yipeng’s office, before handing him two tickets inside a plastic envelope, and continued, “Where did you get this luxury tour from, your elder relative or what? Or did someone buy it for you so you can go together?”

“Um… it’s just mutual acquaintances. It has nothing to do with the case.” Lu Yipeng answered as the other person looked puzzled, “But you brought it for me to check,so you were thinking it’s another fraudulent case.”

“I thought it looked too good and was afraid of being scammed.” The young policeman replied, and the officer chuckled, “Don’t you trust your elder relative or are you scared? The work of the police makes you suspect everyone, just like me, but don’t worry, this ticket is genuine, and the hotel is in your name. Enjoy your trip, inspector. Your elder relative is really kind. He must like you very much.”

Lu Yipeng chuckled before speaking, “Do you want to go?”

The person being asked looked surprised, “Are you kidding or what? This ticket is in your name. Your relative probably wouldn’t be pleased if you give it to someone else, but if you want to invite me, my wife definitely won’t allow it to happen. Inspector, try inviting someone else, but as an inspector, you probably already have someone in mind anyway. Playing with me like this I might really want to go eventually and you’ll have a hard time.”

Lu Yipeng chuckled dryly, “Sorry, but thank you very much.”

“Well, then go ahead, inspector. Have a fun trip.”

Lu Yipeng waved his hand before grabbing the two tickets to look at. He felt embarrassed to have dreamt last night that he had gone on a vacation by the sea, surrounded by girls on all sides.

Such a day off in his dream.

The young police officer let out a big sigh. After inspecting things this big this time, he could sympathize with him a bit. Lu Yipeng began to think about the list of people he would invite to go with him, just then Duan Feng appeared.

“What are you doing here, Inspector? You have a big smile on your face.”

Lu Yipeng smiled and looked at the tickets in his hand, then raised his head to look at the younger man. “Captain Duan, I just got plane tickets and a free stay in Phuket from an elderly relative.” Just thinking about having to call Hong

Kongque as an “elder relative” made Lu Yipeng cringe, but if he didn’t give him a name, it would be even worse.

“Would you be interested in going with me?”

“What kind of resort in Phuket, Inspector?”

Lu Yipeng explained the details briefly, and the person listening had widened eyes. “Wow… sounds great. I’m gonna check my schedule for a day off.”

Duan Feng went to his desk for a moment and then returned with a disappointed look. “Inspector, I’ve used up all my vacation days this year, because I got caught flirting with a girl.”

Lu Yipeng looked a bit annoyed before smiling, “You took so many days off, didn’t you?”

“And I didn’t even succeed in courting her. That’s what really got me down.”

Duan Feng said. “I’m sorry, Inspector. I’m really unlucky. You should invite someone else to the resort with you. Unfortunately, I have to work for another ten years to afford such a luxurious spa resort. It’s a shame.”

Duan Feng walked off in annoyance towards his desk, making Lu Yipeng unable to hold back a chuckle. After that, he had to deal with the problem of who to invite as a friend for this luxurious vacation.

    “Maowei.”

“Hey, Yipeng, is there something else this time? Did the peafowl cause you harm?” YuMaowei greeted Lu Yipeng with a lively voice, almost causing Lu

Yipeng to choke on his saliva, “Oh, no. It turned out well.”

“This is not just because you got demoted from the inspector position, then you are asking for herbs to burn so you can get the position back.” Lu Yipeng quickly rejected, “No, it’s just that someone gave me two tickets to Phuket with free accommodation, see that you used to complain about not going, so I called to invite you.”

“Oh, I really love you Yipeng, inviting friends before inviting your girlfriend, very nice.” Yu Maowei said. Then they heard a muffled sound from behind, silent for a while, and then continued the conversation, “Oh no, I probably can’t go, my father is furious, probably male menopause or something… because he forced me to memorize three hundred types of medicine this week… Ouch! I know dad, I am talking to a friend.” Yu Maowei turned around and then turned back to the phone, “Just like this for now, my father seems to be in a bad mood, ask someone else, maybe Qing Li can go. You guys used to date, right? Oh my!

    I’ll hang up now.”

Yu Maowei hung up the phone with a sigh, leaving Lu Yipeng feeling confused and trying to find a friend to go on this trip together… Who else is there?

“Hey, Yipeng, not taking a summer break this year?” Chen Qian greeted as he walked past Lu Yipeng’s work desk. After inspecting some case files in the next room, Lu Yipeng smiled dryly.

“I would like to take a break, but I can’t find anyone to go with.”

Chen Qian raised an eyebrow before chuckling, “Because you’re always busy working, until you don’t look at anyone in particular. Why don’t you try going alone, maybe you’ll meet someone special.”

“Um.. that’s true.” Lu Yipeng scratched his head, “Thank you so much, Vice Captain Chen.”

“No problem.” Chen Qian said, “Make a decision quickly, don’t miss the deadline for taking a leave.”

    “I understand.”

But even after work, Lu Yipeng still couldn’t find anyone to go with. If he were to go alone as Chen Qian suggested, there would still be some concerns.

Phuket was not a city he had visited much before, and Thai language could be an issue. He needed someone to go with.

Lu Yipeng drove back home, took a shower, changed his clothes, and then sat down to write a leave request for a summer break. After finishing it, he still couldn’t decide who to invite. Those he thought could go together couldn’t go, and that ticket was just teasing him too much. He just wanted to go for a massage, relax in the water and unwind. After working diligently for years…

    Should I return the tickets?…

But when he thought of the expression of a person always ready to kill, Hong Kongque, when he presented himself, Lu Yipeng had to overturn his thoughts. Damn it. Why is someone like him so unlucky? He had two tickets ready to stay at a resort for free, and could invite anyone. Still, he couldn’t invite anyone. What sin did his life commit?

Lu Yipeng sat and thought until late. Still, I couldn’t think of how to deal with his own life and these two tickets. The ticket was already written. I want to go on a trip, but I have no one to go with as a friend.

Or did Hong Kongque plan this from the beginning and give the tickets so closely?!

The young police officer quickly made up his mind. Well, better to plan ahead this time.

Not sure this time. He could have solid evidence to drag that peafowl to the lockup.

Hong Kongque was having fun throwing mango seeds for Paechikchik to catch. Just as Lu Yipeng opened the door. When he saw the face of the young police officer, that bird panicked and called out immediately, “Pengpeng.”

Lu Yipeng had to smile at the bird before speaking when the bird’s owner looked back, “Hey, Pengpeng, want to take me out for a vacation or what?”

“Not really…” Lu Yipeng said, before looking at the person in front of him with a serious face, “Are you free this time?”

“Why? If you need help, then I can be free.” Hong Kongque said, throwing a mango seed for Paechikchik, who was perched on a pole two meters away. The white-feathered cuckoo bird caught it with precision, impressing Lu Yipeng who looked amazed at the bird’s abilities.

“Pengpeng, can you try it?” Hong Kongque turned and said, but Lu Yipeng immediately brushed off the mango seed, “I’m not a bird!”

The person being teased chuckled, pleased, before turning his chair back to face him clearly, “Is there anything else you need, Inspector-Lu?”

Lu Yipeng admitted that he really struggled when facing Kongque. His authentic and serious demeanor made it clear that he was being pushed to his limits. However, with a plan already in place, he had to stick to it as closely as possible.

“Kongque, I invite you to go on a vacation with me.”

The room fell silent as soon as the sentence ended. Hong Kongque, sitting there, looked at him with a piercing gaze as if they had never met before. Lu Yipeng mentally prepared himself, knowing that this was just another attempt to unsettle him, just like every time before. The young man nervously continued.

“I rarely get a chance to relax when I see you around. Let’s take this opportunity to unwind together.”

“Squall! Squall!” The bird that had been perched on the corner suddenly cried out, before flying around Lu Yipeng’s head and chanting, “Storm is coming, storm is coming.”

“Storm is coming!” Hong Kongque, who had been sitting quietly, spoke out and banged the table, “Who will go and see if today’s weather is hot or dusty?!”

Lu Yipeng was fed up and just wanted to grab both the bird and its owner and strangle them to end their annoying antics once and for all. He let out a sigh, trying to keep his composure, “It’s hot, how can there be a storm?!”

“Nowadays, the world is unpredictable. Anything can happen.” Hong

Kongque replied in a serious tone, almost like a science teacher, “If you can invite me to go on a vacation, then the storm may indeed be approaching the hot zone.”

Lu Yipeng’s face went through various shades of green and red, alternating between looking calm and flustered. The main reason for this emotional turmoil was likely the pent-up frustration from not being able to vent his anger towards the person right in front of him.

Clenching his teeth, he remembered being rebutted in a similar way once before. Lu Yipeng released some of the built-up tension and tried to coax Hong Kongque.

“The ticket you provided me with is precisely timed. Anyone would struggle to adjust in such a short notice. Going alone wouldn’t be worth it, and searching elsewhere would likely only lead me back to you.”

The truth was that Lu Yipeng was quite confident that Hong Kongque had planned to invite him on a trip with him and engineered this whole thing knowing this would be the outcome. Even though he had graciously bought him two free tickets, which would make Lu Yipeng usually quite confident, he had learned his lesson twice before that Hong Kongque could easily be swayed by anything. Not even he himself could predict that the guy’s plan would be so easily understood. It had to be unraveled layer by layer, but surely the guy would one day become entangled in his own plans. It was not certain whether it would be today or not, but it had come to this point. He would do his best for his skills.

Hong Kongque raised his eyebrows slightly before letting out a sigh. Paechikchik, who was flying around, flew back to the same island as before. He tilted his head and looked at himself.

“Pengpeng, you are to be pitied, truly.” Hong Kongque said, with a troubled look on his face, “To want to go on a trip so badly that you had to muster up the courage to invite me…” He said before sighing again. Lu Yipeng wanted to respond truthfully that he had been inviting him for three or four years, and now that he had finally accepted, he was acting aloof again. What did he intend to do?

“I’m not so desperate.” Lu Yipeng tried to maintain a calm facade, “You usually like holding my hand, so I don’t really want to go with you.”

“Oh…” Hong Kongque sighed long, then glared at him, “So you couldn’t find anyone else and just thought of me at the last minute?”

“It’s more like that.” Lu Yipeng reluctantly admitted. He knew he had to manipulate this hummingbird of a man with various emotions, “I thought about it, and it seems like you’re the only one who could go with me.”

Hong Kongque chuckled at this, so loud that even Paechikchik was startled.

Lu Yipeng himself braced himself as well.

“Pengepeng, do you really want me to go with you, or do you have another plan in mind?”

Lu Yipeng looked at him and tried to compose himself before responding fully, “I do want you to go with me, really. I figure that with you, I won’t have to worry about the Red Peafowl’s behavior.”

Hong Kongque chuckled with delight, “I also want to go on a vacation with you, just us two.” He looked at the person sitting in the chair before tilting his head and smiling at the person standing. Lu Yipeng’s heart raced. Finally, that stubborn bird of a man would agree with him. After a moment, Hong Kongque let out a relieved sigh.

“Unfortunately, I have to fly to attend a stock meeting in America tomorrow. I probably won’t be able to go. How about this, let Little Zhi go instead. He probably won’t mind, right, Little Zhi?”

Little Zhi, or Luo Songzhi  as he stood guard with his arms crossed, calmly replied, “No problem, sir.”

Lu Yipeng blinked his eyes thoughtfully, not expecting this turn of events. It seemed that Hong Kongque was not actually going on a trip with him after all.

The young detective turned to look at Lup Songzhi, who was indeed sincere. They had worked together once before, and Luo Songzhi was not a bad person despite his large stature. He had a scar on his face and a voice like a hoarse horse, but asking Lu Songzhi about Hong Kongque’s secrets… that was another matter. Where had that traitorous Kongque revealed secrets to others? And each of his servants was loyal and devoted, as if programmed to be so.

    Truly crazy!

“Okay, it’s settled then, no problem, Inspector.” Hong Kongque said before continuing, “Wait for me at the airport tomorrow, and I’ll have Luo Songzhi drive you. Oh, and you won’t have to go through customs to check my bags because I’ll be flying before you.”

Lu Yipeng raised his head to look at Hong Kongque before blinking his eyes thoughtfully, as if about to say something, but ultimately remained silent.

Well, at least Luo Songzhi was more trustworthy than his boss. No telling if this time he might just wheedle some important information out.

Lu Yipeng looked down at his watch. He was standing at the airport, waiting for Luo Songzhi to arrive eagerly. In all honesty, he wanted to have a chat with his trip companion before embarking, to get to know each other better. Although he had other plans for the trip, going on a vacation together with someone he wasn’t close with was indeed strange.

While contemplating calming himself down. Finally, he might actually get some real relaxation. Yes, because that guy had a quiet nature. He didn’t usually involve himself with anyone. Then the voice of someone became louder.

    “Inspector Lu.”

Lu Yipeng turned to look and almost smiled, but quickly changed his expression to a puzzled one, “Oh, where are you flying out before me?”

“There is a storm in America.” Hong Kongque said. He was dressed in a dark red suit over a light gray shirt, wearing black glasses, with a number of

followers behind him, “Because you of course.”

Lu Yipeng frowned before continuing, “I’m sorry, but I wonder if heaven wants you to go with me instead.”

Hong Kongque just cleared his throat, “I suppose heaven would pity poor Little Zhi if I let you two go together again. Coming back this time you might not have all of your body parts complete.”

Lu Yipeng gritted his teeth, wondering when Hong Kongque would stop teasing him, “I drive a car more easily than riding a motorbike like you.”

“Oh… well then.” Hong Kongque dragged his voice, “But I never took you to crash then and now.”

The young police officer nodded, “Alright, Kongque, so are you going to go with me?”

“Yes.” Hong Kongque nodded, “I pity poor Little Zhi, the innocent guy who couldn’t handle the mischievous person like you Pengpeng, but I’m afraid if I let you go alone, you’ll get lost and cry over there again, then it will be troublesome for me.”

Lu Yipeng tried to smile as broadly as he could, “Well, hope you won’t do anything strange or sneaky over there. I’m too lazy to explain to others that I’m taking you on a trip.”

“Very well said.” Hong Kongque said, smiling at the corner of his mouth,

    “Call me Grandpa Kong.”

“What?!” Lu Yipeng exclaimed, raising his eyebrows, looking at his hands crossed with a serious face, “I said call me Grandpa Kong… Can’t you hear?

You are like a kid who doesn’t know how to respect adults.”

Lu Yipeng pouted for a moment. He managed to pull himself together, “Are you crazy? How can you be my grandpa?”

Hong Kongque chuckled, then grabbed Lu Yipeng’s chin, “Let’s check-in, Little Pengpeng, if you slow down you will miss the flight, I won’t carry you on my back and run after the plane.”

Lu Yipeng glared at him before turning his face away, walking briskly towards the check-in counter, followed by Hong Kongque, who chuckled goodnaturedly before following along, with his underlings helping to carry the luggage.

Before this, when writing about Mister Paitoon, I thought that Khun Paitoon was already a skilled and elegant leader. But when Hong Kongque entered, Khun Paitoon immediately got pushed out with him, saying that our grandfather Que is more important than the elegant leader. He pulled his tail and wobbled his wings, waiting for Pengpeng to come and beg (?). In summary, this pair seems to be a bit slippery together, right?!

          THE RED PEAFOWL CHAPTERS HOME

  • REDPEAFOWL, Chapter 6: Tong Baishi Case

REDPEAFOWL, Chapter 6: Tong Baishi Case

REDPEAFOWL, Chapter 6: Tong Baishi Case

Lu Yipeng’s position as an inspector was not obtained by luck. He had been holding the position of inspector since the age of twenty-five, because of his ability to unravel complex and mysterious cases. Although many parts he had to rely on cooperation from Hong Kongque, no one could deny that if it weren’t for Lu Yipeng’s skills, Hong Kongque may not have been willing to cooperate. And Hong Kongque, he always helps whoever it is, wherever it is

Lu Yipeng raised his head from the pile of evidence on the table as the sergeant walked in with a cup of coffee.

“Another late night for the inspector today. Is the case going smoothly?”

“Yeah.” Lu Yipeng sent a chill down his throat and let out a sigh. He heard the sergeant continue, “Tong Baishi is the godfather of the underworld here, right? I heard he doesn’t really get along with Hong Kongque. Why don’t you…”

“Forget Hong Kongque.” Lu Yipeng interjected, “Every case, not all of them need to depend on that guy.”

“I just offered a simple suggestion.” The sergeant on duty spoke softly as Lu

Yipeng let out a sigh, “Let it go. I’d better go rest. Let’s talk more tomorrow.”

    “Drive safely, inspector.”

As it was past midnight, the road was quite empty. Lu Yipeng drove his car onto the familiar road to head home and rest. After driving for a while, he felt like there was a car following him, so he slowed down. To see if the car behind was really following him, he noticed the car suddenly swerve to the side. Lu Yipeng accelerated, increasing his speed to normal levels, but just then the car in front suddenly stopped. Lu Yipeng slammed on the brakes, hearing the screeching of tires loudly before a loud crash followed.

“Damn it!” Lu Yipeng cursed before opening the car door to check the damage. While wondering why the driver of the car in front wouldn’t come down from his vehicle, he heard the sound of an engine revving from behind, but he didn’t turn back to look. A hand reached out of nowhere and applied a handkerchief to his face.

Lu Yipeng, rubbing his eyes, realized he was in a dark room. When he tried to move his hand, he realized it was handcuffed and tied above his head. Before he could see anything clearly, his eyes closed due to the bright light shining in front of him.

“Wake up, Inspector Lu.” a voice unfamiliar to him sounded louder. Before the rounded palm could slap his face, the voice snapped, “Wake up, detective.

Don’t you like to use bright headlights to interrogate suspects?!”

“Sorry. I wasn’t born in that era.” Lu Yipeng spoke, still half-asleep. He was then hit by a backhand slap until he turned towards the source and felt the bitterness in his mouth. Blood mixed with saliva dripped out before he fell silent again, hearing the same voice questioning with doubt.

“Lu Yipeng, are you intentionally pretending to be asleep or are you really lost somewhere?”

“If you could turn off the lights first.” Lu Yipeng replied. He then heard a chuckle, “To be honest, when you met Hong Kongque, were you talkative like this too?”

The person being questioned remained silent. The same voice spoke again,

“Turn off the lights. I want to see Inspector Lu clearly.”

The light was dimmed, and Lu Yipeng opened his eyes.

Suddenly, a blinding light flashed into his eyes, causing him to squint. He closed his eyes again, only to hear a chuckle.

“Lu Yipeng, Lu Yipeng, I really want to know what you have that made

Hong Kongque willingly let you go.”

“Hmm…” Lu Yipeng cleared his throat before finally speaking, “I don’t know who you are, but I have no ties with Hong Kongque. You’re teasing me. He’s not bothered at all.”

“Well, you never know.” The voice interrupted, “I heard you went in and out of that Kongque’s mansion willingly. You must be his favorite. Unbelievable!

Still, you’re a young police officer with a bright future ahead. Now you’re just a toy for that crazy bird’s house.”

“Well… I agree with you about him being crazy, but now I have to charge you with assaulting an officer.”

The sound of a loud slap echoed, and then the lights went out, “Alright, Lu Yipeng, open your eyes. I want to see how well you can talk with your eyes open.”

When Lu Yipeng opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was the reflection of himself in the mirror in front of him. His hands were tied, and his shirt was removed. Luckily, his pants were still on.

The young officer sighed loudly. Then the voice spoke again, “What are you sighing about?”

“Nothing.” Lu Yipeng replied, turning to face the person speaking for the first time before shouting, “Oh… right. It’s you, Mister Tong Baishi. I didn’t know you had such hair. I have a file in my record that you have had the thinning of your hair since you were thirty-five.”

Tong Biashi smirked and grabbed his own hair before looking at Lu Yipeng menacingly, “You talk tough.”

The sound of a slap echoed once more. Lu Yipeng’s face turned in the other direction immediately, and the young officer stopped for a moment before spitting out a mixture of saliva and blood.

“If you dare speak so well, I’ll slap you until you don’t have any teeth to chew rice.” Tong Baishi threatened Lu Yipeng, raising his lips slightly before sweeping his gaze around.

    One… two… three… four… nine, ten, eleven, twelve

About twelve Tong Baishi’s underlings surrounded him, some looking at him clearly, some not so clearly. Some may have been caught by him before. Even when staring at him as if to kill or punish, Lu Yipeng let out a sigh and then turned back to look at his own reflection in the mirror.

“Lu Yipeng, do you know why you’re caught like this?” Tong Baishi walked in and asked Lu Yipeng shook his head, “I don’t know. You must still be resentful that Hong Kongque withdrew the stock two years ago without telling or explaining, but you must have been so angry about it that you caught the wrong person.”

Tong Baishi glared at him with a fierce expression, “You do have a good mouth.” Then he turned to take something from the underling who walked in.

    Kwrap.

The crackling sound of the narrow object slicing through the air was heard clearly by the ear. This was followed by a loud noise. This time, a red mark appeared instantly along the waist of Lu Yipeng.

“Is this better, Inspector-Lu? You like to accuse me of targeting children. Go ahead, try it out for yourself. In fact, I think you might enjoy it.” Tong Baishi spoke with a hand holding a black cane. This time, another red mark appeared on the belly of Lu Yipeng.

Lu Yipeng frowned with a troubled expression before speaking, “Okay,

Mister Tong. What do you want to say?”

The chuckling voice of the other person was heard loudly, “Do I have to be this violent to make you understand, Inspector? What I want is simple. I want to torment you so that Hong Kongque can’t sit still. Lately, you’ve been pestering me so much that I thought that bird behind you would handle me easily, right?

I’m not that easy to deal with, Inspector. Now it’s time for you to learn the same lesson as your older seniors.”

A video box was brought out and placed on the side. Tong Baishi then stepped back a bit, “You will have to become the star of my movie. Alright, grab his phone and call that peafowl’s house. Let him know that his boy-toy is in my hands.” The sentence was followed by instructing the underling who was standing there to pick up the phone. After a while, his face showed an anxious expression.

“There is no number with Hong Kongque’s name, sir.”

Tong Baishi frowned before walking towards the phone to dial the number himself. As he heard Lu Yipeng’s voice speak up again, “Hey, would it be of any use to search for it? I didn’t save his number on the phone.”

    “Then just tell me.”

Lu Yipeng tilted his head to look at the person asking, and then chuckled,

“You kidnapped me just to threaten him, but don’t know how to contact him, huh. Trust me.” He finished speaking and then sighed, until Tong Baishi interjected with a loud voice, “Stop talking nonsense, and tell me the number you regularly contact him with, he doesn’t pick up calls easily.”

“Oh…” Lu Yipeng sighed before providing the phone number, “This isn’t his direct number, it’s a number in the mansion. Usually, his housekeeper will answer. You might catch him sleeping at this hour.”

Tong Baishi just smiled, “The call is already disconnected, inspector. Call him now, you might have forgotten the timing.” He then dialed the phone number.

    “…”

After a while, Lu Yipeng yawned, “I’m going back to sleep. You contact him first, and then come wake me up to be the hero in the video.”

“Argh!!” A loud exclamation, accompanied by a furious expression on Tong Baishi’s face, “Lu Yipeng, told me the peafowl’s phone number. Before I tear you apart piece by piece, don’t think just because I can’t contact him, and I’ll stop harassing you. I will slice you, bit by bit, and film it, then send it to that birdie’s house.”

Lu Yipeng sighed, “I think he might enjoy your videos, here. Mister Tong, I don’t want to die for free. Is there any other offer that is worth listening to than this? If you have something more interesting, I might help you get his attention.”

Tong Baishi stopped frowning and chuckled, “Getting easier now, huh? Then tell me how to contact Hong Kongque. I will loosen the rope tied to your arm a little, but if not… I will pull you up and hang you, then twist you until your back breaks, and sprinkle salt on you.”

Lu Yipeng nodded, “Alright, this time I will pray for him to pick up the phone.”

Hong Kongque was feeding insects to the leaves of a snail vine in the nursery when Li Kong stepped in through the door.

“Kongque. Inspector-Lu is on the phone.”

“Ah…” Hong Kongque sighed before delicately using his tweezers to pick up the unfortunate bug and placing it on a leaf of a flytrap. The unlucky insect barely had a chance to spread its wings before it was grabbed by the leaf and held captive. The butler heard Hong Kongque speak up again, “Tell him I’m busy taking care of plants, we’ll talk later.”

Li Kong faithfully conveyed every word of his boss, without any errors. Then he continued, “Inspector-Lu said he must speak to you, it’s important.”

“Um… bring it here.” Hong Kongque said, dropping the bug into a container, and picking up the phone.

    “Hello Inspector-Lu. What’s the matter?”

“Hello Kongque. Long time no see.” The voice at the other end sounded slightly different from Lu Yipeng’s, and Hong Kongque let out a sigh, “Baishi, is it? Your voice hasn’t changed a bit. Has the hair on your head stopped thinning? I have heard you found some good medicine, or was that just a hair clip?”

Tong Baishi gritted his teeth and answered, “Hong Kongque. I have something important belonging to you in my hands.”

“What?” Hong Kongque exclaimed in surprise before turning to look at Li

    Kong, “My Little Chik?”

“He’s in the room, playing with Little Zi.” Li Kong answered, hearing Tong Baishi’s voice through the phone, “Stop pretending to be innocent, Kongque.

Your beloved Lu Yipeng is with me, who is this Little Chik?”

“His beloved little bird.” Lu Yipeng answered in place of Tong Baishi, glaring at him before turning back to continue the conversation on the phone.

    “So Kongque, what’s going on?”

“Ah… it’s really you, Inspector-Lu.” Hong Kongque sighed deeply, “You’ve really outdone yourself this time. I thought you took my underling away again.

Is there anything else? I need to hang up, I’m busy.”

“Hey!” Tong Baishi exclaimed, turning to look at Lu Yipeng again. The young police officer spoke up, “You’ve got the wrong person.”

“Shut up, you fool.” Tong Baishi scolded before speaking into the phone, “Hong Kongque, don’t act all chill with me. I have your boy tied up. Do you want to hear his voice?”

“Oh, okay. I enjoy hearing his voice more than yours.” Hong Kongque said as he opened the speakerphone and placed it near a pot of plants before picking up a bug and a box to feed it to the bird, “Inspector-Lu, what do you want with me?”

“Um… nothing really.” Lu Yipeng answered. When he saw Tong Baishi raise his eyebrow, he continued, “Well… Tong Baishi said he’ll slowly torture me, cut my penis piece by piece, film it, and send the video to you.”

“Um…” Hong Kongque made a sound in his throat as he tried to aim the bug into the bird’s mouth, “Tell him to hurry up and do it. I want to see.”

Lu Yipeng raised his head to look at Tong Baishi and smirked, “I told you he

    likes it.”

Tong Baishi cursed angrily before putting the phone back to his ear, “You, Hong Kongque, don’t think I can’t do it. You’re safe for now only because you have a big mouth.”

Hong Kongque quickly ended the call, and a few bugs flew out of the box.

“Hey, Little Baishi. How many times do I have to tell you not to scream?

You startled all of my plants.” Lu Yipeng thought that if Tong Baishi could kill someone over the phone, Hong Kongque would be the first to die.

“Don’t talk to me like that, you little punk! Who do you think you are!” Tong Baishi shouted angrily, making Hong Kongque sigh in frustration, “Seriously…

I haven’t even called you a jerk or anything, so show some respect, Tong Baishi. You’re messing with my time. Before you try to challenge me, you should check if your front store is still okay.”

“Hey, hold on a minute.” Tong Baishi burst out. After getting the line cut off, he tried to call again, only to have the line cut off again. When he looked up, he saw Lu Yipeng shaking his head in despair, “Damn it. You’re still blaming the wrong person. Causing him more distress won’t get you anything. This time if you kill me you will get nothing but a charge of killing a police officer.”

Tong Baishi narrowed his eyes before speaking, “That damn brainless fowl from that house, playing this game. No matter what, his true intentions are obvious. I won’t kill you. I will make sure you remember it for the rest of your miserable life not to mess with someone like me!”

Lu Yipeng let out another sigh, “Then let’s do it quickly. Mister Tong, because I am too lazy to get emotional at the thought of Hong Kongque’s people coming to destroy you.”

“Don’t threaten me, he won’t come to help you.” Tong Baishi said. Lu

Yipeng nodded, “Well of course. He won’t help me, but you know he’s not a good guy either. When you called earlier and interrupted his happiness, he wouldn’t let you rest easily.”

Tong Baishi turned to look at Lu Yipeng before ordering the younger ones to check ahead.

The three underlings nodded and walked away. Tong Baishi then turned to

Lu Yipeng. The young inspector spoke up again, “Put my arms down. I am

    tired.”

Upon hearing that, Tong Baishi chuckled, “I can’t put your arms down now, but I will take off your pants instead.” Lu Yipeng immediately frowned.

“Instructions to him will soon be different.” Tong Baishi said before clapping his hands to call over the underlings, who brought out a flat triangular horse saddle that he had never seen before, “I want to see your true face, Lu Yipeng, when you take off your pants and sit on that horse. Make a good face and sound, the video will have some color. Open it up for others to see, they won’t feel sorry for you.”

Lu Yipeng looked thoughtful in an instant, “Mister Tong. Are you going to blackmail me with that video?”

“Of course, or do you think there’s something else?”

Lu Yipeng had a look of genuine concern on his face, “Is there something more exciting than riding a horse? I think just riding a horse sounds boring.”

Tong Baishi stared at the man in front of him, as if he had seen a ghost, before speaking, “Lu Yipeng, are you a sadist or what?! Haha well then, let’s satisfy your desires a little.” And with that, he raised his whip again, the sharp cracking sound echoing as several red marks immediately appeared on Lu Yipeng’s body.

“That’s enough, but I want something stronger than this. It’s better if you get something that can tear flesh than skin.”

“Truly good mouth, want to know for sure if you like what the mouth says or not.” Tong Baishi spoke, and called a young man to come in. Then a long knife gleamed in front of Lu Yipeng.

“Inspector-Lu, let’s see how your fair skin reacts when it is scratched.” Tong

Baishi said, while the underling moved the knife back and forth in front of Lu

Yipeng before sighing and nodding, “This should do.”

Unexpectedly, Lu Yipeng, who had been bound with handcuffs and tied with a rope for nearly two hours, suddenly leaped up from the ground, kicked the man in front of him with his foot before nodding, before using his foot to grab the knife and then using the knife to cut the rope tied to his wrist. All of this took less than five seconds, with lightning speed.

“You crazy fool!” Tong Baishi shouted, and raised the whip at the moment when Lu Yipeng broke free from the rope. The young man rolled in the air before using his foot to kick the knife towards the large light bulb hanging above.

    Bam!

The sound of the light bulb breaking echoed along with the missed cane, and the light went out. Chaos ensued immediately, with everyone making panicked noises.

    “Hey, he escaped!”

    “Ouch!!”

“He is going upstairs, turn on the lights quickly!!”

Before the light could be turned on again, Lu Yipeng had disappeared, while Tong Baishi was scrambling with what had just happened. Loud noises and breaking sounds of various materials could be heard from another room.

“What’s going on now!!??” Tong Baishi exclaimed before seeing another young man running in.

    “Red Peafowl, Hong Kongque!!”

Before he could finish his sentence, a bullet pierced through the wall. Everyone quickly threw themselves to the ground. The sound of breaking dishes and the explosion of gunshots reverberated throughout. Many thought they had gone deaf by then.

Once they were in position, Tong Baishi ordered his five underlings to prepare their weapons, and then they all ran to the front of the store immediately. As soon as they went out, they had to cough. The fancy café they had just been in a few minutes ago had turned into some kind of debris filled with dust from gun smoke and pieces of plaster. What’s more, bullet marks splattered on the walls were even used to write letters.

Tong Baishi widened his eyes almost to the point of popping out before he shouted, “Hong Kongque!” Then another thought came to his mind – that damn police officer!!

Tong Baishi’s office was located upstairs, so he escaped the hail of bullets almost unscathed. The middle-aged patriarch rushed up, breathless, picked up a key, unlocked the door, and ran straight to his desk. He bent down, opened a secret compartment, took out several pieces of paper, and quickly stuffed them into his shirt. Then he felt someone standing behind him.

Tong Baishi shouted for his own underlings, but all he received was a heavy blow on the shoulder before being grabbed and pressed face down on the desk.

“Tong Baishi. I am arresting you on charges of detaining and assaulting an officer.” Lu Yipeng spoke while pressing the handcuff keys down with a loud click, and then picked up some fallen documents to look at, “Oh… charges of operating illegal brothel services and committing sexual offenses against children under fifteen. Thanks for this original list, it’s worth a look, Mister

    Tong.”

Tong Baishi glared angrily, but he couldn’t do much because he was being held down. He raised his head to look at Lu Yipeng before hearing the loud sirens outside, “You damn Lu Yipeng, you were playing games and working with that damn peafowl from the start.”

Lu Yipeng let out a sigh, “What should I tell you, Tong? You brought this upon yourself. No one forced you to kidnap me. No one forced you to use me to call him. You acted on your own.”

Tong Baishi looked at him before shouting, “Hong Kongque!!”

“And when you were knocked out by force, you didn’t lose conscious?” Hong Kongque asked. After requesting and coercing Lu Yipeng to tell the story of what happened that day until it was finished, Lu Yipeng shook his head.

“I just tease him for fun and end up getting teased for real. How do I deal with someone who fights back when teased?”

Hong Kongque chuckled approvingly, “Little Pengepeng, you know how to be charming and reserved, I am truly pleased.”

Lu Yipeng finally looked up at the man in front of him, but before he could say anything, Hong Kongque continued, “But I really want to see the shot of you escaping from those handcuffs for real, it must look cool. The lockpicking technique I taught you must have come in handy, right?”

Lu Yipeng nodded, four years had passed and this guy had handcuffed him countless times. Not being able to escape at times made him feel like he would be stuck in cuffs forever. He was a real policeman, but had to deal with outlaws like this and be handcuffed. Until he managed to pick the lock and he was able to escape the handcuffs every time.

“Tell me, if they didn’t take you to that club, what would you do?” Hong Kongque asked, and Lu Yipeng looked at him before responding.

“I would have to wake up, knock them out, and drive there myself. And then we’ll talk later. Why do you ask?”

Hong Kongque chuckled mischievously, “Well…I just want to know what

Little Pengepeng’s plan is. You usually like to plan to deceive me to death.”

Lu Yipeng gritted his teeth, thinking that one day he would have to come up with a plan to deceive this troublesome man and make it a success. Hong Kongque looked at him and with a flick of his mouth, he grabbed a bug and fed it to the venus flytrap plant next to him. They were currently in a greenhouse full of flytrap plants, some of which were deadly to touch. Lu Yipeng knew some of them while others he didn’t. Some plants could be fatal just by touching the leaves, so Lu Yipeng didn’t know if he should trust Hong Kongque’s words or not, but it was best not to take the risk.

“Indeed. How do you know that Tong Baishi was planning to catch me?” Lu Yipeng asked after watching Hong Kongque feed the bug to a pitcher plant resting for a moment. Last week he visited Hong Kongque at the mansion to consult about Tong Baishi’s case where they hadn’t yet found solid evidence to apprehend him, and received advice from Hong Kongque to prepare well because Tong Baishi would probably invite him to see the evidence himself in two days.

Hong Kongque fed another bug to another plant and then turned to answer with a smile.

“Why do the honor students of the Police Department ask such simple questions?” He stopped and smiled, Lu Yipeng, with a grimace on his face before continuing, “That guy has been holding a grudge against me for a long time, trying to find opportunities to get back at me all along. As for you, you keep playing his game endlessly, it is not strange if he doesn’t want to catch you. I just released a little bit of news to urge him to speed up. You will be able to close the case more quickly, my kindness and liking for you are endless.”

Lu Yipeng tried not to think about how Hong Kongque spread the news and told himself to be patient. He did not raise his hand to the man standing in front of him smiling because besides being beaten, he might be in more trouble.

Looking at Hong Kongque looking down at the insects in the leaves for a while, Lu Yipeng spoke again.

    “Kongque, thank you.”

“What?!” Hong Kongque turned his head immediately and two insects flew out between them, “Thank for what?”

“Well…” Lu Yipeng blushed, “For helping me. If you hadn’t helped me shoot them, I don’t know if I would have survived.” The young man thought to himself that this time, if he had opened his mouth, Hong Kongque could have been charged with possessing heavy weapons and causing unrest.

Hong Kongque looked puzzled before chuckling, “Pengpeng, you misunderstood that. Why do I have to help you?” He stopped for a moment and placed the box of insects, “If you were too weak to fall into Tong Baishi’s trap,

I would have killed you already. Don’t forget what’s on your leg.”

Lu Yipeng was shocked when his left ankle was grabbed by Hong Kongque’s hand. He quickly tried to resist by holding the other hand according to the signal, but missed again.

“This doesn’t mean we are going to get along easily.” The other person continued, “My tests have standards. If you still lose to those scumbags, I’ll just sit back and watch your videos on social media. I might even lose interest.”

Lu Yipeng was speechless with the unexpected answer from the other person.

After a while, he spoke up.

“But yesterday you rushed in to help me.”

This time, Hong Kongque hesitated. Then he raised his hand to cover his mouth lightly, “Pengpeng, you are absolutely correct.”

The young police officer felt the edge of his own lips being lightly brushed by the other party’s finger before hearing the voice continue, “Some things can be forgotten.”

Then the hand moved away, and the edge of the lips moved closer

“But I already knew that you won’t lose to that bastard. You’re the first person who has made me feel this excited.”

Lu Yipeng tried to pull away as the other party leaned in closer, Hong Kongque reached out to caress his tender thigh before forcing a kiss on him as usual. They were kissing for a while. Lu Yipeng had to speak out hastily, “Hey, go feed your plants, all the insects have flown away.”

Hong Kongque smiled and pulled him in for a deep kiss before responding,

“Forget them, let nature take its course and let them feed themselves. I just enjoy watching them squirm in the leaves.”

Lu Yipeng looked at the person in front of him with a disgusted expression,

    “You are truly mentally ill.”

Hong Kongque couldn’t respond but chuckled in his throat before pulling Lu Yipeng closer to him, “Pengpeng, I want to see how far your intuition has advanced. Pengpeng, do you want to try it here or on the bed?”

Lu Yipeng sighed, “I’ll take the bed, but I can only stay until four. I have to go back to work.”

“Hmm…” Hong Kongque moaned, then caressed the badge on Lu Yipeng’s shirt, “The next day you will come and interrogate me, taking one day off won’t hurt, you can interrogate me deeply.”

“One day I’ll invite you to be interrogated at the police station.” Lu Yipeng said before being lightly slapped on the lips, “You have a good mouth.” Hong Kongque said, then forced another kiss. Then Lu Yipeng heard a click and felt the cold metal on his wrist

“I’m sorry, it’s almost four, we won’t make it to the bed.” Hong Kongque said, starting to caress him more heavily. Lu Yipeng even sighed deeply

Damn it… why do I always end up in cuffs!

REDPEAFOWL, Chapter 5. Loosing the Virginity Card

REDPEAFOWL, Chapter 5. Loosing the Virginity Card

In this world, if asked what is most important in a man’s life, every man will answer the same, that the health of his younger brother (penile type of brother) is the most important. If one can wake up early in the morning and have a morning wood every day, it is considered the pinnacle of a man’s life.

Lu Yipeng used to be one of those men. He was still young, healthy, and proud of his younger brother, until…

“Uh… ah… Stop!” Lu Yipeng moaned and tried to grab Hong Kongque’s waist. In an attempt to stop the intense thrusting that was going on, but what he received was even more frequent and intense thrusts, along with a tight embrace. He heard Hong Kongque take a deep sigh before speaking with a husky voice.

    “Don’t cum yet, Pengpeng. Hmm…”

Lu Yipeng bit his lip tight, sucking in a tired sigh, and tried to stop the frantic movements of the other person, Hong Kongque, by placing his hands on top of his hands again. The grip seemed to increase the thrusting force even more, causing Lu Yipeng to groan and moan. As the waist section moved jerkily, the young man heaved a tired sigh as the one above him leaned down and brushed his lips lightly on his cheek. Then, the waist started moving again.

“Oh!” Lu Yipeng cried out and grabbed the strong waist tightly before trying to speak, “Enough… enough!”

Hong Kongque then slapped his hand on the bundle of muscles on the other person’s stomach with a loud sound before bouncing even more vigorously than before. Lu Yipeng convulsed violently, until he heard the sound of the bed board smacking against the wall before moaning again, as he tightened his grip on the waist.

As Hong Kongque reached the climax, Lu Yipeng thought he might not see the sun of tomorrow for sure. His body lay face down on top of him before biting his neck lightly and whispering his name huskily.

    “Pengpeng…”

Lu Yipeng’s eyelashes could not resist closing, so he let the other person continue kissing his body continuously before both hands were pulled to embrace him on that side.

The strange smell of herbs woke Lu Yipeng up. He rubbed his eyes in difficulty and found Hong Kongque sitting beside the bed. In a clean and neat condition, wearing clothes neatly, it turns out that last night the guy did not remove his clothes even during the bed romping,, Hong Kongque was not in favor of revealing his back.

“Good morning, Pengpeng.” Hong Kongque said. Then he reached out his hand to stroke his head before bending down to kiss his forehead lightly as if he were a child. Lu Yipeng frowned, trying to raise his hand to push the other person away. Hong Kongque asked, “What’s wrong? You seem grumpy this morning.”

Lu Yipeng looked at the other person and replied, “Were you trying to kill me or something?”

The beautiful eyebrows of Hong Kongque lifted before he spoke with a smile, “You’re not joking, right? How could I kill you?”

Lu Yipeng tried to sit up, speaking eloquently, “It was too lustful of you!”

“I thought I was being normal.” Hong Kongque said with a serious face. Lu Yipeng grumbled and replied, “Normal people don’t sit on others and bounce like that!”

“I am.” Hong Kongque replied with a smile before continuing, “Don’t be so upset, you should not even be this childish. You are happy too.”

“Where?!” The young policeman spoke angrily. Hong Kongque looked at him for a moment before taking off the blanket. Without answering his question, Lu Yipeng was surprised. His body was engulfed in a big blanket.

Meanwhile, that part of him was being swallowed up.

“Enough…” The man said, feeling unsure whether to be embarrassed or what. After the other person expertly licked that part and made it wake up within seconds.

“If you’re still struggling like this, don’t complain. You’re not that old yet.” Hong Kongque said and kissed the tip of the hardened part. Before Lu Yipeng hurriedly covered with a blanket.

“You can turn into a shy woman.” Hong Kongque said with a smile, his eyes focused in that direction.

“Go take a shower before coming back. Then you can take the medicine.” Hong Kongque said and stood up. The person heard, frowned.

    “Medicine?”

“Um.” The person standing nodded, then turned to pick up a small covered cup placed on the bedside table, opened its lid. Then the herbal scent spread throughout the room.

“To be honest, I think you probably don’t need to take it at your age, but you look tired now. The work at the office seems tough for you so I made some herbal soup for you.”

Lu Yipeng glanced at Hong Kongque, “You are the one who tire me the most.” Then he walked briskly into the restroom, leaving Hong Kongque to let out a deep sigh.

“Actually, kids these days… Even a sparrow had not had a full drink.”

“Sparrows don’t even drink water all night!” Lu Yipeng’s voice echoed out of the bathroom as Hong Kongque turned to sip the herbal tea instead.

“Hey, Yipeng, how are things going?” A young man in his twenties greeted as soon as the person walked into the store, before closing the half-opened mouth that he held. Lu Yipeng looked at the mouth containing many pills lined up.

“How’s business going this time around? Maowei.”

The person being asked smiled widely, “It’s going as well as usual this time.

More people are coming to try herbal medicine than before.” He looked at the other person before speaking up, “Do you want some herbs, mister? You look a bit gloomy. I’ll concoct one for you.”

“No need.” Lu Yipeng said, raising his hand to stop him. Miowei turned back and asked again, “Then what’s the matter, do you have another case?”

Yu Maowei is a friend of Lu Yipeng from high school. His family has been running a herbal medicine store since ancient times. It could be said that they have been working together intermittently, and Yu Maowei is the latest generation to take over the business. His knowledge of herbal medicine is unmatched by anyone.

“It’s nothing serious. I just wanted to know a little bit. Has anyone from the Red Peafowl ever bought medicine from you this time?”

“Oh…” Yu Maowei’s eyes widened, “If I knew someone from the Red Peafowl’s people came to my store. I would have put up a sign board about their visit right away.”

The man listening raised his eyebrows, “Why is that? Is it something to be proud of?”

“That’s how it goes.” Yu Maowei replied nonchalantly, shrugging his shoulders, “No one has ever seen anyone from the Red Peafowl before, not even the person who works for him. But it is said that the Red Peafowl is an enigma. He holds great power, perhaps he is a real demon.”

“I think he’s human just like you.” Lu Yipeng said. The man turned to look at him, raising an eyebrow, “Have you ever met him?”

“No.” The young policeman quickly denied. Admitting that he had never encountered anyone from Red Peafowl seemed to complicate things even more. It was hard to believe that the tale of the legendary bird-man would turn out to be a mere hoax. Lu Yipeng was determined to see if Red Peafowl’s people came to buy herbal medicine here, hoping to ask for something that would have an opposite effect. But then again, if the buyer didn’t carry Red Peafowl’s name tag, and if his friend really did mix something like that, it could lead to further trouble.

“Do you have a problem with the Red Peafowl or something? I heard he’s involved in a lot of illegal business. Are you going after him with evidence, or do you want to get something to meet him? If so, I have a good recommendation. A daily herbal soup, guaranteed to keep you fit. He’ll surely appreciate it.”

“No need.” Lu Yipeng quickly stopped his friend, as he was certain that Hong Kongque probably had his own herbal remedies, or it would be better to stay in his hands. Yu Maowei turned and made a sad face, “See, no one trusts their friends. Any man will be satisfied with something like this. Who could refuse?”

Lu Yipeng raised his hand to scratch his head, before coming to a decision,

“Indeed, Maowei. Is there any herb that can cause impotence?”

“What?…” The man being asked looked puzzled immediately, “Are you going to use it to prank your boss or something?”

“Um… something like that.” Lu Yipeng decided to lie. He was thinking that if such a herb really existed, and he tricked his mythical boss into consuming it, his life would be much more peaceful.

“Ha!” Yu Maowei exclaimed, then disappeared to the back of the shop, rummaging through jars and bottles until Lu Yipeng heard a faint noise. Yu Maowei then returned.

“We do have the herb, but it takes a day or two to mix it because no one hardly uses it.” He chuckled. The listener asked for more information, “What are its properties?”

“If you drink it and your little brother’s head won’t rise for seven days.” The man replied, and continued, “But let me reduce the dosage for you, then you can take it every other day.”

“Can you make it last seven years?” Lu Yipeng said, looking at his friend Yu Maowei with a serious expression, “Seven years of impotence, you’ll either go bald or kill yourself. Two days is enough. If a man can’t get a hard on for two days, he’s almost dead.”

“Um… one day is fine. He probably doesn’t do it every day.” Lu Yipeng insisted, “Just two days probably won’t shake that house peafowl of his too much.” YuMaowei looked at him, then sighed, “I really want to see the face of that boss of yours, see what kind of person he is. It’s not like you to want to tease someone this badly.”

“A person you can’t even imagine.” Lu Yipeng replied, and continued, “So

I’ll come back in two days.”

“Alright.” His friend replied, “I’ll make arrangements for you.”

Two days later, Lu Yipeng returned to YuMaowei’s pharmacy, and received two white pills.

“Why so few?” He asked immediately. Yu Maowei looked at him, “I’ll make one pill for you next time. Chew them slowly, it takes a while. Taking too many pills will only make things worse.”

“Mmhm.” He nodded, then took out his wallet to pay for the medicine before walking out of the store.

“Don’t swallow it all at once.” Yu Maowei teased as Lu Yipeng chuckled in response, patting his pocket and walking away.

This time, that house peafowl would experience a taste of torment.

Hong Kongque was feeding the sparrows just like he did when Lu Yipeng arrived. As soon as Lu Yipeng poked his head in, he heard a familiar voice calling out.

    “Pengpeng.”

It wasn’t a person calling, but a bird named Paechikchik, who turned to see him and immediately chirped. Lu Yipeng tried to maintain a normal expression as Hong Kongque chuckled approvingly.

“The way you smile, I bet you like hearing that name, huh? Calling him before me again, today Pengpeng you are here. What’s the matter? Is there another case?”

“Nothing. I just miss you, that’s all.”

Hong Kongque even stopped his hand that was feeding Paechikchik immediately. What was even more surprising, Paechikchik himself paused with Lu Yipeng trying to mold his face as sincerely as possible, and then continued, “Can’t I miss you sometimes?”

Hong Kongque rolled his eyes at him, before turning to look at Paechikchik, then looking back at him again Lu Yipeng who stood and waited patiently.

Silence enveloped the room immediately. Hong Kongque stared at him for a long moment, then raised his hand to stroke his chin, “Hey, someone go check if the storm is coming.”

One servant walked out of the room immediately, leaving Lu Yipeng standing patiently, before he answered, “There is no forecast today.”

Hong Kongque squinted at him before turning to look at Paechikchik, then turned back to him for another look. Lu Yipeng stood waiting patiently.

The room was filled with silence, and Hong Kongque stared at him for a long while before nodding, “Um…well, you might need more rest. So, go.”

The man almost gasped aloud as a young policeman stood still, having heard

Hong Kongque say something, “Are you not in a hurry to go back?”

Lu Yipeng pursed his lips before turning around, pausing to say, “Do you have someone new?”

Hong Kongque’s hand paused once more, along with the bird on his shoulder. Lu Yipeng clenched his jaw tightly, his face flushing, thinking that what he was about to say next would probably be the most shameful words in his life.

“Normally, you would have held me from leaving by now, this time you let me go easily. Are you bored of me, huh?”

Hong Kongque’s eyebrows raised slightly. Then, he heard the flapping of wings, “Pengpeng.”

Lu Yipeng startled, as the bird landed on his shoulder, before nuzzling his cheek gently, “Pengpeng.”

“Oh no.” Hong Kongque sighed, “Even Little Chik has lost his mind over you Pengpeng.” He finished speaking and let out a big sigh, as the servant walked in to whisper in his ear.

“Pengpeng, bring Little Chik back here. There’s no storm today.” Hong

Kongque said, leaning back in his chair. Lu Yipeng smiled, then walked

towards them. When he approached, Paechikchik flew from his shoulder to land on the collar in front of Hong Kongque. Hong Kongque looked at it, then lightly rubbed its head with his finger, “Are you feeling slightly better now?”

The bird nodded as if accepting that Hong Kongque was genuinely concerned, “Okay, in that case, I will agree to be deceived by his charm for once.”

After speaking, he turned to look at Lu Yipeng, “What are you trying to deceive me with, Inspector-Lu?”

Lu Yipeng immediately straightened up, “Kongque, what’s wrong with you today? Usually, you wouldn’t even let up with your antics until the last minute.”

“I’m not in the mood today.” The other person replied to Lu Yipeng icily, “You…”

The young man bit his lip, face tensed, brows furrowed.., perhaps the house swallow was truly growing tired of him. If that’s the case…

    “Pengpeng.”

Lu Yipeng startled before the other person’s lips could touch his own.

“Look serious. Are you afraid I will truly grow tired of this?”

Lu Yipeng raised his hand to cover his mouth as if in forgetfulness, before speaking, “Are you crazy? Who would be afraid of that?”

Hong Kongque smiled on his face, bent down to touch the other person’s lips with his own again before speaking, “Let’s go to the room. I’m in the mood now.”

The words “in the mood” made the young detective blush and quickly stammered on, “Wait. I haven’t eaten anything yet.”

Hong Kongque frowned immediately, “Do you want to eat first?”

Lu Yipeng nodded immediately, “I need to eat first, or else I won’t have the energy.”

The others listened and chuckled, “These kids are something else. Go ahead, eat. I bet Pengpeng looks adorable when he’s eating, but don’t use the excuse of being full when it’s time.”

Lu Yipeng shook his head, “I have the day off tomorrow… I can stay with you all night if needed.”

Hong Kongque looked at him and then nodded, “Set the table. I will eat with Pengpeng.”

Lu Yipeng found that planning to trick Hong Kongque into eating the pills was more difficult than planning a continuous series of catching a murderer, and it was also embarrassing to have to use himself as bait to lure Hong Kongque to eat the pills.

They ate until the meal was finished, and Lu Yipeng still couldn’t figure out a plan, but if he waited until it was all over, the chance of success would likely be even lower.

“Kongque… Are you taking your supplements?” Lu Yipeng asked after setting down his spoon. He assured himself that if he waited any longer, everything would be in vain. Hong Kongque looked at him and nodded, “Yes…

I will take it. I think you should too. You look tired as well. You won’t be able to function until morning.”

Lu Yipeng tried to suppress his anger before speaking, “I got some good medicine. Are you interested in trying?”

Hong Kongque stopped frowning and looked at him, then responded, “What kind of medicine is it?”

Lu Yipeng quickly grabbed a bottle of pills and placed it on the table, “The name is hard to remember, but it works really well.”

“Have you tried it on anyone else?” Hong Kongque immediately asked. The one being questioned shook his head hesitantly, “No. I thought of you first.”

Hong Kongque looked at him and smiled. Then he picked up one pill in his hand, and Lu Yipeng’s heart raced immediately.

    This time…

Hong Kongque looked at him for a moment and then smiled. He then flicked the pill across Lu Yipeng’s head into the trash can.

“This is the reality, Pengpeng. I like it when you try to deceive me.” Hong Kongque said as he raised his hand to grab the young man’s face, which seemed to have stiffened into a sculpture.

“You’re really cute when you’re embarrassed. I almost can’t resist you since you started acting cold towards me.” Lu Yipeng mumbled.

“You threw away the pill.” Lu Yipeng said.

“Oh…” Hong Kongque sighed, then grabbed the young man’s face to turn it back. “The next time you try to play hard to get, I like it, but… I also have my limits.”

Then their beautiful lips touched each other, both struggling, gasping in a long break. It was uncertain in which emotion they would end up together, but in the end Hong Kongque pressed Lu Yipeng down onto the bed.

“Pengpeng, you’re just too cute. I really want to tease you a little more, but…

I can’t hold back anymore.” He said, as he moved his hand towards the target area of the person lying down, making Lu Yipeng shiver.

“I’m waiting for you to come in.”

No matter how crazy Hong Kongque was, since they had engaged in sex, Lu Yipeng had never let him touch that part of himself, so he had to give up hope of conquering Hong Kongque’s heart. Lu Yipeng found himself in a crisis situation again. He failed to deceive Hong Kongque, and it seemed he was going to lose the bet again.

Lu Yipeng tightly held the pill in his hand. Once it had reached this point, then…

“Pengpeng, what are you doing?!” Hong Kongque exclaimed, quickly covering the young man’s mouth before speaking. “Spit it out, do you know what that pill is?”

“I swallowed it.” Lu Yipeng replied, smiling knowingly. “Kongque, I won’t be able to entertain you tonight.”

Hong Kongque frowned. Then he stripped Lu Yipeng of his pants. After a while of teasing, he raised his head, looking puzzled.

Lu Yipeng didn’t know whether to be angry or not at Hong Kongque’s reaction. The guy seemed interested as he didn’t get it up. However, the fact that he didn’t get it up wasn’t something to be proud of either.

Hong Kongque swept his gaze over the person lying down before raising his thumb to his head and speaking, “Pengpeng, I see your point.”

After finishing his words, he immediately grabbed the young man and flipped him over. After a short skirmish, Lu Yipeng found himself pinned down by Hong Kongque, handcuffed to the bedpost.

“Kongque, what are you doing?” asked Lu Yipeng in surprise, trying to understand what was happening.

“Well, Pengpeng, I’m not very good at this topping, but in situations like this, I can’t control myself.” Hong Kongque said, unbuttoning Lu Yipeng’s shirt.

Then, he kissed his back, still holding his hands firmly. Although he couldn’t get Lu Yipeng to harden his penile tool, he was skillful enough to explore the unused love hole and widen it.

Lu Yipeng wanted to die, wanted to die before reaching this moment for real. He was going to be fucked by Hong Kongque!? What kind of madness was this?!

A heavy sigh and moaning sounded like a wounded animal echoing throughout the room as Hong Kongque held him tightly, while his body moved in and out and sucked on his neck. While Lu Yipeng could only let out a low moan in his throat.

When this unfamiliar love ended, he didn’t know. All he knew was that he woke up yet again and found Hong Kongque lying beside him. He looked exhausted from the intense love affair the night before. Even though normally

Hong Kongque’s was always the bottom in their bed activities, every time he woke up, he found Hong Kongque smiling joyfully.

Hong Kongque moved to open his eyes as he heard the sound of the handcuff keys falling. When he looked up, he saw Lu Yipeng unlocking his own handcuffs. The young man turned to him and spoke calmly, “You missed seeing how I used my foot to unlock the handcuffs.”

“Oh…” Hong Kongque mumbled before burying his face back into the pillow, “Let me sleep for a while longer.”

This time the young man stopped raising his eyebrows immediately. The truth is, last night he had just lost his back door’s virginity to this crazy peafowl, but as soon as he opened his eyes, Lu Yipeng thought he shouldn’t get hysterical like a woman being raped, at least it was not as uncomfortable as when Hong Kongque was a power bottom. So Lu Yipeng calmed down his mind, then searched for the key that was placed on the bed.

But when Hong Kongque woke up and saw this sulky posture, he couldn’t help but ask in amazement, because usually, this guy would wake up with a cheerful and cheerful attitude, always look as if a blood-sucking ghost had sucked up all the fresh blood and died like this.

    “Kongque, what’s wrong?”

Being asked, he raised his head a little before speaking with a frustrated voice, “Tired.”

“…” Lu Yipeng raised his eyebrows before asking, “Are you tired?”

This time, Hong Kongque raised his head and raised his eyebrows immediately, “Am I not allowed to be tired?”.

“Um…” Lu Yipeng moaned in his throat as if he couldn’t think for a moment,

“I don’t know. I always see you being energetic all the time.”

“It’s not the same.” Hong Kongque spoke and shrugged at the person lying on his shoulder, “I don’t like being the one to do it…”

Lu Yipeng blinked his eyes before speaking again, “I think you like it both ways.”

Hong Kongque raised his head and looked at the person asking in a strange way before asking back, “Do you like it?”

This time, Lu Yipeng shook his head slightly as the other person looked at him disdainfully. “I thought you would be making a fuss. I remember the first time we did, you acted like a woman who lost her virgin card.”

Lu Yipeng tried to calm himself down and carried on. It had been a long time since that happened, now…

“Um… I’m not a woman at all, and it’s not that painful. I suspect your thing might be too small.”

Well, he missed his chance to mock Hong Kongque’s masculinity so he wanted to take this moment to insult his masculinity all for once.

Hong Kongque stopped raising his eyebrows before things got messy, “I think your sphincter is too big, you are not that old.”

This time, Lu Yipeng couldn’t help but retort immediately, “Are you crazy?

How can I have a big sphincter? I don’t do this often like you do.”

Hong Kongque looked genuinely shocked, “Or maybe Pengpeng, you prefer being on the receiving end?!”

Lu Yipeng wanted to throttle the person in front of him, “No. Even if you’re small like this. I still don’t like it.”

“Oh, definitely. If I were bigger than you, you would feel better, wouldn’t you, just like you like it big, right?” Hong Kongque responded and asked with the most serious face. This time, Lu Yipeng couldn’t hold back. He reached out to strangle Hong Kongque once. Hong Kongque dodged and chuckled. Then both started wrestling on the bed for a while, and in the end, it was still Hong Kongque who emerged victorious.

“Pengpeng, today I will give you the detox pills. If you don’t get it up the next time. I will be really heartbroken.” Talking under his breath, he kissed the person lying until he heard a loud kiss. Lu Yipeng thought he wanted Hong

Kongque to be heartbroken, but he was sure that this guy wouldn’t really die from it, but he would die first, die from the embarrassment of investing to the point of making himself lose big time. He didn’t get his revenge, and in the end…

While he was thinking about what he had done, his lips were pushed by Hong

Kongque’s lips. After kissing enough, Hong Kongque raised his head and smiled.

“Next time, don’t do anything crazy like this again. If you still think you can beat me by doing this. I will cut your thing off completely, to solve the matter once and for all.”

Lu Yipeng felt his hair stand up instantly, “I don’t want to be an eunuch.”

Hong Kongque raised his hand to pat his face and smiled, “Good, because I also don’t want to sleep next to an eunuch. Let’s agree like this. I will give you the detox pills. We will…”

“No need.” Lu Yipeng immediately blurted out. He was thinking that. If it woke up today, it would surely be made into a passive top by this guy again.

Maybe it’s better to just postpone it for a while

“The medicine has a seven-day effect. You can wait that long. I don’t want to risk taking any of your medicine anymore.”

The person who had been listening with a thoughtful expression nodded,

“Alright then, I’ll give you a week off.” He then used his hand to lift Lu

Yipeng’s chin, “So, next week, find a day to spare. You must reimburse me in bed for making me emotional and a top.” He paused for a moment before continuing, “If by next week your little Pengpeng is not up yet…”

“I get it already.” Lu Yipeng exclaimed, and saw a secret smile on the face of the other person. The young man wanted to cry for real.

“You have promised me, Pengpeng. Next week, you will be with me all day and all night.” After finishing speaking, he forced another kiss on him. Lu Yipeng did not know what to do, so he had to respond to the kiss with the most confused feeling. Even so, Hong Kongque still moaned satisfactorily. He really must like something like this.

    You crazy peafowl!

       REDPEAFOWL, Chapter 4: Extra Help

In the life of Lu Yipeng, from childhood to adulthood. He excelled in every aspect, whether in sports or academics. He ranked first in the police academy entrance exam and graduated with top honors in every subject, until Lu Yipeng thought there was nothing left to challenge him in the world. But his small world had just opened up when he encountered the name Red Peafowl.

Lu Yipeng raised his hand to caress his weak legs, it had been four years already, four years with Hong Kongque…

    Hong Kongque

       Late at night

On a side road with few cars passing by, a black car drove slowly before coming to a stop. Its headlights illuminated the grass by the side of the road, along with the night breeze blowing in from the nearby coast about two kilometers away.

The car parked for a while, another old black car drove in and parked next to it. Then the people in the car rolled down the windows and started chatting for a while. The door of the newly arrived car was opened, and a young man in ordinary clothes stepped out. At the same time, the door of the car that had parked earlier was also opened, and another well-dressed man stepped out as well.

The person who got out of the shabby car walked to the back of the car, then bent down and pulled out something from under the bumper near the exhaust pipe. It was a package about the size of a hand before he raised his head to get in.

    “Money?”

“Um.” The person standing there replied with a scratchy voice, then handed over a black document pouch, along with receiving the package, “Does it not get smelly like this?”

“It’s better than letting the dog smell it.”

The person responded, and opened the pouch. At that moment, a soft rustling sound got louder. The person who opened the pouch looked up, then shouted out, “Police!”

Gunshots rang out as the car doors opened. The man jumped out of the car quickly, while Lu Yipeng jumped out of the grass along with seven other people. The young police officer aimed his gun at the car’s wheel, fired twice, then turned and shouted at the others, “Follow quickly!”

Two police cars rushed out of the grass, while the remaining police officer jumped into the car. As for Lu Yipeng, he opened the door and got into the parked car, just before it sped away, leading to an immediate chase on the road.

Three cars chased after the old car, Lu Yipeng looked at the car which was speeding recklessly. He grabbed the radio on his waist as expected, then spoke into it, “The criminals are heading towards Route 31. Tianlu and Jackie are following.”

The radio blared with anxious voices. Then Lu Yipeng saw sparks flying out of the old car that was fleeing, accompanied by loud noises and flashes.

“Damn it!” Lu Yipeng cursed, seeing the police cars ahead and quickly swerving to the side.

“They have a machine gun! What should we do, inspector?”

Lu Yipeng quickly leaned down to the lower part of the steering wheel before giving a command, “Follow closely, maintain a safe distance, do not lose sight.

    I will request backup shortly.”

Just as he finished speaking, he grabbed the radio and spoke urgently, “This is Lu Yipeng, the criminal has a machine gun, requesting backup on Route 35 immediately. Hurry, the criminal has a machine gun.”

Before he could finish speaking, Lu Yipeng had to duck down quickly, as some bullets sprayed towards the car, hitting the side of his vehicle frighteningly.

“Captain Duan.” Lu Yipeng called out to the person driving, and the person who was driving replied, “Are you okay? This is definitely not good, we can’t follow too closely but we also cannot lose them.”

Lu Yipeng thought carefully before moving to sit next to the driver, “I will drive instead.”

Captain Duan Feng looked at him and quickly jumped out of the driver’s seat. The car skidded slightly to the side as Lu Yipeng sat down.

“Aim for the car’s tires, Captain Duan.” The young police officer said. The car then accelerated, increasing its speed dangerously.

“Are you for real?!” The driver exclaimed, trying to aim the gun at the tires of the car in front, while the car swerved dangerously. Gunfire sounded loudly once again.

“Damn it!!” Lu Yipeng swerved the car in another direction at a speed that almost made the car flip over, while the driver tried to aim at the target, keeping himself from falling out of the car.

Gunfire erupted from the semi-automatic rifle that was fired out, followed by the loud and fierce sound of the machine gun. This time, Lu Yipeng’s car almost veered off the road.

“Inspector-Lu!” The driver exclaimed as the bullets flew past above his head.

He heard Lu Yipeng’s voice respond, “You scoundrels.”

Lu Yipeng turned the steering wheel quickly, bringing the car back onto the road just in time before it collided with the roadside barrier. The front windshield of the car was cracked, as the bullets had pierced through.

“There was a car blocking our way!” Duan Feng cursed and tried to shoot at the old car’s tires as Lu Yipeng swerved the car to the side.

The words of Duan Feng made sense, but who would dare to drive recklessly like this in the middle of two people shooting at each other? If it was other cars they would either hurriedly stop or drive away, so he had to try his best to chase after them until he could catch up with them.

Lu Yipeng’s mind was in chaos, tingling with fear as he thought that they might die from the cars crashing. In an instant, he felt like he saw a limousine driving in the adjacent lane.

With his mouth agape, Lu Yipeng almost couldn’t brake in time when he saw a black limousine suddenly appear and swerve in. The sound of metal bodies colliding reverberated through the air, causing Lu Yipeng’s car to skid off to the side of the road. Luckily, it stopped just before crashing into the barrier. Lu Yipeng and his companion jumped out of the car with guns in hand, slowly walking towards the older car in the front, which was now wrecked and abandoned, while leaning against the back of the long black limousine.

“Call an ambulance, the criminals are injured.” Lu Yipeng said into the radio. After inspecting the wreckage and finding all three criminals lying unconscious, he and his companion disarmed them all and waited for reinforcements to arrive.

“Well… whose car is this?” The companion asked, gazing at the long black limousine with a small dent in the body from the collision, “It’s bulletproof, huh?”

Lu Yipeng was about to speak, but someone else’s voice cut in first.

“No worries, Inspector-Lu.” a young man with a brightly colored suit stepped out of the car. Although only dim lights illuminated from the front of the parked car, Lu Yipeng remembered well who this man was, but before he could speak, the man spoke first.

“Oh, don’t be so formal now, have some pity for your subordinates.” He said, teasingly looking at the companion who stood stoically. Lu Yipeng let out a sigh, feeling exasperated.

“Why are you here, to silence them?”

“I came to help you sincerely, are you still thinking about silencing them? Do the royal police academy students teach honor like this or here?” The man accused in a cutting tone, while Lu Yipeng gritted his teeth before responding,

“Then why did you appear at this precise moment like this?”

“I was just about to drive home.” The man replied, “I happened to see something, and felt like being a good citizen so I decided to help. Is there anything else suspicious, or do you think someone like me has to risk crashing the car to kill these bastards?”

Lu Yipeng was silenced for a moment by the man’s words. The man smiled slightly, then opened the car door, “I’m not expecting any damages repaid for this job. Don’t forget to visit to say thank you.”

The sound of the car door closing echoed. Before the car, a limousine, could drive away, Duan Feng opened his mouth to ask something, but when he saw the emblem of a red crowned peafowl decorating the front of the car, he said,

    “Red Peafowl!”

The news that Hong Kongque helped catch the criminals quickly spread throughout the department. It was fortunate that the authorities ordered the news to be suppressed. However, there were still a few tabloid newspapers that enjoyed sensationalizing the news like celebrity gossip, but eventually had to retract and apologize publicly. It is not known whether it was due to police orders or the influence of the Red Peafowl.

Lu Yipeng glanced at his watch. He had just finished investigating a case last week. Rumors about Red Peafowl had been circulating for several days, causing the young police officer to be upset. Now that things seemed to have calmed down, and he had finished work early today, he decided to go out and enjoy some happiness.

Since Hong Kongque appeared at that time, Lu Yipeng has never gone to visit him once. When Hong Kongque did not send anyone to follow him, and he had no business there, Lu Yipeng did not step inside.

The whole incident of blocking the car without clear intentions like that. No need to thank me for that.

With the Red Peafowl tattoo on his leg, Lu Yipeng no longer had the courage to flirt for sex from any male or female wherever he went. The relaxation and down time that remained in the young police officer’s life would probably be going to the game center.

Over the past four years, Lu Yipeng has become a regular customer here. The sudden flash of lights. From the game cabinets, along with the people standing around watching, it was enough to replace the atmosphere of the nightclub district.

Lu Yipeng sat slouched in front of a game cabinet in a gaming area, casually placing two or three coins beside him, but he was not a novice in the center game. When forced to use this place as a relaxation spot, Lu Yipeng’s gaming skills at the moment can be called “god level.” Therefore, the coins were exchanged and piled up. For him, it can be easily forgotten.

A young policeman was playing with the computer for a while when someone pressed the joystick. He looked over at the game cabinet on the opposite side because it was a large cabinet. What Lu Yipeng saw was the shoulder of a man wearing a plain blue shirt, and the sound of coins piling up beside him.

No one in the center game dared to challenge him for a long time. This young man’s attitude might be new, but he was wrong to come and challenge him.

Lu Yipeng never spared a moment when playing against opponents, just like how he carried out his work duties. Therefore, his victory in the first game was easily achieved. The doctor was truly a newbie, unfortunate.

But defeating a newbie didn’t make Lu Yipeng feel proud. He thought of getting up and going to the other side to help and teach, but the sound of dropping coins and pressing buttons for another round made the young man have to stop himself, then grab the joystick to continue.

They played several games and Lu Yipeng knew that if it weren’t for the other guy’s persistence, he would be bored. Even with skills like this, he is still willing to compete against him for ten more games. In the end, the young policeman decided to speak up.

“Excuse me, take a break for a moment. Can we talk for a bit?”

The other side didn’t respond, just sat quietly. So Lu Yipeng walked around the line of game cabinets lined up next to each other to go to the opposite side, and had to stop abruptly when he saw the face of the person sitting there.

“Do I not play well enough for you?” A mysterious smile appeared on their face along with the question. Lu Yipeng cursed himself. He should have realized it was the host.

“Not good enough at all.” said the young policeman, then walked over, “Why didn’t you come and say hi to me?”

“I thought this would be more fun, don’t you agree?” Hong Kongque said as he assessed Lu Yipeng from head to toe, then asked, “Are you dressed as a company employee after work today?”

Hong Kongque looked down at his own shirt and slacks outfit and chuckled,

    “Does it suit me?”

“I think if I have a little bit of a belly protruding from my waist and some love handles, I’ll just embrace it.” Lu Yipeng made an observation, and then he was caught in the eye by another person. The young man swept his gaze elsewhere, noticing a pile of coins.

“Are you not good at playing games, or are you just teasing me?” Hong Kongque tilted his head to look at him and replied, “Have I teased you about anything before?”

Lu Yipeng glanced at the other person for a moment before sighing, “Move on, I will teach you so that in the future, you won’t be embarrassed by them.”

Hong Kongque chuckled, pleased, and shifted in his seat to face Lu Yipeng,

    “Don’t tease me.”

Hong Kongque raised his hands on both sides and said earnestly, “Please teach me, teacher.”

As soon as Lu Yipeng heard that, he immediately got goosebumps, “Why are you saying things that are disrespectful to me.”

The other person chuckled again, “In our culture, we judge age based on appearance. It’s not a disrespectful comment.”

Lu Yipeng frowned, looking at the other person for a moment. When he saw the approving smile, he quickly averted his gaze back.

“This is the directional controller.” Lu Yipeng began to explain, “This button is for punching, this one is for kicking, use it with the directional controller like this.” He demonstrated while explaining, and Hong Kongque sat listening, nodding like a curious child giving him goosebumps.

After listening to the explanation for a while, Hong Kongque spoke up, “It seems difficult, even copying the movements of those guys is easier.”

Lu Yipeng raised an eyebrow, “This is a game center, not a playground for acrobatics. If you want to show off, then… I suggest you take these coins and exchange them for tokens to play in the acrobatic park.”

“Well… just saying this doesn’t seem like we have to chase each other away.”

Hong Kongque interjected, and Lu Yipeng sighed, “I better go home.”

“Wait.” Hong Kongque put his hand in front of him before quickly adding, “I understand, teacher. Let me try playing it out for you.”

Lu Yipeng blinked rapidly, but ultimately sat down obediently. Hong Kongque shifted his body and raised his hand in preparation, then began to do what he had been taught.

“You’re pressing too fast, slow down a bit. The machine can’t keep up.” Lu Yipeng said since meeting Hong Kongque. He had only just seen the clear movements of the doctor’s hand today. He could move fast to an unreasonable extent. He always gave in first.

Hong Kongque chuckled, “These machines were made very slow. Fighting at this pace would be pointless.”

“This is just a game, uncle.” Lu Yipeng said. Hong Kongque turned to look at him, then smiled, “Pengpeng… be careful what you say, or your tongue won’t be of any use.”

Lu Yipeng immediately closed his mouth

Sitting and staring at Hong Kongque pressing the button for a long time, the speed decreased not much. Lu Yipeng began to be quiet. Unable to bear it, he had to speak out again, “Hey… you’re a little slow.”

“I’m trying my best.” Hong Kongque said, his face serious. Lu Yipeng looked at him for a moment, then let out a sigh, “I will hold your hand, so you can feel the beat.”

The young police officer spoke seriously and touched his hand while pressing the button. He felt Hong Kongque slightly flinch, so he turned back to look.

Hong Kongque’s lips were slightly beautiful, and he let out a faint smile as he turned. Lu Yipeng couldn’t remember how he felt for sure. He just felt a slight shock when he heard the sound of the falling coins, and knew that his lips had touched the lips of the other person.

Just a little touch, but why did his heart start beating so fast?

Or was it because of the surprise of the falling coin…?

Hong Kongque’s face showed a mysterious smile before he finally spoke,

    “Can you handle this slow?”

Then he began to move his hand again. Lu Yipeng immediately lowered his weight on the other hand, “A little slower.”

The feeling of holding hands with someone else to play a game is indescribable. Especially when holding hands with someone like Hong Kongque.

They held hands like that for a while, Hong Kongque’s hand didn’t slow down at all, but Lu Yipeng was sweating profusely. Whether it was due to the realization of the immense power in the other person’s hand, or some other feeling, he was sure.

“Let’s go.” Hong Kongque spoke up. After running out of coins to insert, Lu

Yipeng hesitated before looking at his wristwatch, “It’s this late already?”

The person sitting next to him nodded, “Good kids should sleep before midnight. You can go now.”

With that, they both got up, and Hong Kongque smiled at him. Lu Yipeng didn’t feel like smiling back, so he quietly got up and walked out of the store.

A black long limousine pulled up in front of the game center, the colorful lights on the sign further emphasized the red pigeon at the front. A servant stepped out of the car and opened the door for another person who didn’t seem to own a car like this.

“Pengpeng, today was really fun, thanks for teaching me.” Hong Kongque said before stepping into the car. Lu Yipeng swept his gaze around the car once before speaking.

    “About yesterday… thank you.”

“Huh?” Hong Kongque sounded confused and lowered the window, “What did you say?”

“Nothing.” Lu Yipeng shook his head. Hong Kongque smiled faintly before speaking again, “If you’re free next Sunday, come have tea with me.”

“I’m not a fan of Western customs.” Lu Yipeng replied shortly, the one inviting didn’t say anything, just a brief comment, “Tea is good though.” Then he raised the window, and the long limousine drove away.

Lu Yipeng let out a sigh, still feeling the moisture on his back. The young man walked along the road, trying to sort out his conflicting thoughts.

At least, he now knew that someone like Hong Kongque also had parts of himself that he didn’t like.

Four years have passed, and Lu Yipeng just found out that he can defeat Hong Kongque at this game center.

“Pengpeng, you have arrived just in time.” Hong Kongque, sitting on a leather armchair in the reception room, greeted him cheerfully upon hearing

    Paechikchik’s voice, “Pengpeng.”

Lu Yipeng closed his eyes in patience as he thought about how embarrassing it was to be called like that by his boss. Even the bird did not spare him. If it weren’t for being Hong Kongque’s bird, Paechikchik would have been strangled by now, but because he was Hong Kongque’s bird, he had to endure it. More importantly, if compared, he would rather strangle the other person.

“Oh?” Lu Yipeng asked, as he sat down on the chair opposite Hong Kongque, and the person sitting next to him picked up some plant seeds and fed them to the bird in his hand, then said with a smile, “I remember you saying how much you don’t like Western customs.”

“If you’re worried that I’ll see your illegally obtained tea cup, then you’re already too late.” Lu Yipeng replied as Hong Kongque chuckled and said, “You always like to tease others. Where’s my illegally obtained tea cup?”

After a brief pause, Hong Kongque spoke up, “But let’s put the tea matter aside for now. I have something I want you to see. Oh, here it is.”

The door opened, and the servants helped carry in a cabinet. Lu Yipeng glanced at it for a moment before turning back to the person who was feeding the bird.

“A game cabinet, right.” Hong Kongque answered the question on the face of the person looking at Lu Yipeng. He patiently endured the situation, “I saw that it’s a game cabinet, but why did you bring it here?”

“I want to challenge you again.” Hong Kongque answered back, and then handed Paechikchik to the servant, “Let’s see if my skills have improved or not.”

    Lu Yipeng chuckled, “Alright.”

“Kongque, what is this game machine?” Lu Yipeng asked. After losing five games to Hong Kongque, the person who was asked replied with a smile, “It’s just a game machine, what’s so special about it?”

Lu Yipeng turned to look at the person answering, and continued, “These buttons are not working. Don’t try to cheat me.”

Hong Kongque raised his finger and waved it around, “I’m not cheating with you. If you don’t believe me, I’ll move over and let you try that machine yourself.”

Lu Yipeng patiently waited for Hong Kongque to walk over and sit in front of his game console. After that, he saw a person pressing the game buttons at lightning speed, the fastest in the world.

“Kongque!!” Lu Yipeng exclaimed, “What did you do to the buttons?!”

Hong Kongque smiled and replied, “I just adjusted them to be faster. I think this speed is the most suitable for fighting.”

Lu Yipeng gritted his teeth before bursting out, “Please play your own game by yourself then.” With that, he stormed out of the room, leaving Hong Kongque sighing repeatedly.

“These kids nowadays… finding it so difficult to make things faster.” Lu Yipeng closed the door with a loud bang.

Furthermore, fanart of characters S and M is added for more fun. Hong

Kongque’s image must look cool and handsome, the ultimate male lead.

Kongque’s image is not cute, but rather manly. Lu Yipeng, the most unlucky character in the three worlds, is considered lucky to be a character in this story.

Pengpeng’s image is simple and dignified, indeed a model of honor. But what bad luck it is to have to deal with someone like Hong Kongque.

Additionally, there’s a couple images. This couple is really strong and formidable. No jealousy, no shame, really!

       REDPEAFOWL, Chapter 3: Red Peafowl

It’s been thirty years since the rumors started spreading that the Red Peafowl is a mysterious organization, operating outside the law, with its leader Hong Kongque being enigmatic…

But in reality… What kind of person is Hong Kongque?

The clock tower bells rang loudly throughout the neighborhood at six o’clock in the morning. Hong Kongque rolled out of bed, his large silk robe trailing behind him. He rubbed his head and exchanged greetings with Paechikchik, who came in with the family patriarch. Then he began to get ready, taking about five minutes in total. Afterwards, the family patriarch would give him the daily schedule.

“Mister Shen arranged for a morning meeting? Is the schedule still the same?” Hong Kongque asked, glancing at the day’s agenda that had already been announced. The family butler nodded.

“All right. I’ll head to Tunnel Eight and tell them to prepare the cars. Two should be enough. I’ll go as Zi Cui.”

“Understood.” The family butler acknowledged, then exited the room.

At eight o’clock sharp… The grand building of the Shen family.

“Mister Zi, always on time.” Shen Bao greeted the young man in his early twenties with slicked-back hair, who was entering the meeting room. Mister Zi, or Zi Cui, smiled politely in response.

“I am always punctual, sir. Are the other meeting participants here yet?”

“They haven’t arrived yet. Please have a seat.” Shen Bao gestured for Zi Cui to sit down.

“Actually, I asked you to come a bit earlier than the others. I have something I’d like to discuss with you privately.” Shen Bao continued. After Zi Cui sat down, the young man looked at him intently and asked, smiling, “What is it about, sir?”

“I know that what I am about to say may cause you distress. Many of our shareholders are questioning the status of the Red Peafowl. We want to know the source of your funding. No need to go into detail, just assure us that these funds will not disappear out of thin air.”

Zi Cui raised a smile on his face, then replied, “Hong Kongque is reputable, sir. He has never misled us before. As for where he gets his money from, I am not sure.”

“Please, Mister Chu. We have consulted with each other, but do not want to pressure you, so let me speak privately first. When conducting business with other shareholders. We are open with each other, but you… Hong Kongque is not one of us. You do not have any company. No financial reports. This investment is risky. If you were to disappear…”

“Mister Shen Bao.” Zi Cui replied, “Our company has been in partnership with yours since your father’s time. We have never been deceitful, so is someone making you force us out?”

Shen Bao looked embarrassed, “Mister Zi, let’s talk directly. The managers in our fathers era have all passed away or retired. Now, the current management is the same generation as me and all of you. Nowadays, they do not believe in old reputation. On top of that, we have never seen the Red Peafowl himself. No one knows what business he is involved in. You must understand this dilemma.”

Zi Cui looked troubled, “Shen Bao… I do understand. Let’s do it this way. I will call him and ask how much we can disclose about our business. Hopefully, we can both have peace of mind.”

The young man spoke, and got up and left the room before returning.

“I can tell you a few things, Mister Shen.” Zi Cui paused for a moment before continuing, “Our boss has businesses in the oil industry with Company F from America, as well as pharmaceuticals in Germany. You can check all this under the name Hong Kongque.”

Shen Bao raised an eyebrow, “So Hong Kongque is your boss’s real name?”

Zi Cui replied with a smile, “We hold shares on behalf of the company. We are registered in America.”

“Oh…” Shenbao exclaimed, and made a phone call. Zi Cui waited until he finished the call before speaking seriously, “This is confidential, Shen Bao.

Besides you, do not tell anyone else.”

“Got it.” Shen Bao replied with a smile, “If the information is accurate, I will confirm at the meeting that the Red Peafowl has a strong financial standing.

You don’t have to worry about it.”

“Thank you, sir.” Zi Cui replied with a wide smile.

Because Shen Bao was there to help confirm the argument, the meeting ended smoothly. Zi Cui walked out of the meeting room, taking the documents with him, and thanked Shen Bao sincerely. As he walked out for a bit, someone called out, “Mister Zi.”

Zi Cui turned around and saw a tall young man named Qi Chengen, one of the partners in this deal.

“Is there something, sir?” Sue asked politely, stopping in his tracks.

“Hong Kongque, what exactly is his business?” Qi Chengen asked.

“I can’t tell you, but you have already confirmed. You shouldn’t doubt anymore.” Zi Cui replied. Qi Chengen nodded. Then he asked, “Mister Zi, can I have a private conversation with you for a moment? It’s about a secret matter.”

Zi Cui furrowed his brow before nodding to the person waiting and stepping back, “Is there anything else?”

“If you don’t mind. I apologize, but I want to know… are you and Hong

Kongque relatives, siblings, father and son, or just underling?”

“I’m just his underling.” Zi Cui answered. Qin Chengen nodded, “So he must trust you a lot. I heard you’ve been working with him for six years.”

“Yes, to replace the old employee who left.”

The questioner nodded again, “Then… you and his former underling must be related.”

Zi Cui chuckled, “No, I don’t know him at all.”

“But you do resemble him.” Qi Chengen said, taking out an old photo,

“Jimmy, was this your name before? Zi Cui?”

Zi Cui looked at the photo before chuckling, “What a coincidence. I must have looked like him enough for him to hire me. Well, I was really lucky.”

“Stop playing around, Hong Kongque. How many lives do you think you can hide behind?” Qin Chengen said sternly, his face serious. Hong Kongque immediately got on guard. This time, Zi Cui just smiled and looked straight into the eyes of the man in front of him.

“Chengen. Has anyone ever told you what Red Peafowl is?”

“No one has told me, but I will tell others now.”

Before Zi Cui could move, a gun was already pointed at his waist.

“This is the Red Peafowl in the legend. You are just a weak, insignificant man.”

Zi Cui pursed his lips for a moment before a sly smile appeared, “Chengen. Let me ask you something. Are you the person who suggested that others check my financial status?”

“Yes.” Chengen nodded, “Even if I did not say it, everyone is already suspicious of you. Let’s not waste time and talk about something constructive. What kind of business are you in now?”

“Has Shen Bao not told you yet?”

Qin Chengen just smiled, “Even though he may be a coward, he does not reveal secrets. His father has been doing business with you for over ten years.

He trusts you more than me. If you don’t want to get hurt, just tell me. I know that if something were to happen to you, the Red Peafowl’s reputation would be tarnished.”

Zi Cui smiled and continued, “Why do you want to know about Red

    Peafowl’s business?”

“To see what I can do in place of you.” Chengen replied, “If you give up a few businesses to me, I will keep your secret safe.”

“I somewhat disagree with this method of keeping secrets.” Zi Cui said as he noticed Qin Chengen tightening his grip on the gun in his hand.

The smell of burning iron made Qin Chengen feel more awake, and he found himself tied up with ropes on a boat. After struggling to move for a moment, the voice of someone became louder.

“Well, Young Master Qin, nice to meet you officially.”

Qin Chengen raised his head and saw a man sitting on a big leather chair, his shoulders covered with a white fur shawl. The light shining down reflected on a sharp face displayed on the glowing screen.

“Oh! Zi Cui… In short, you are actually Hong Kongque.”

Hong Kongque smiled in the light, “You’re smart enough, Chengen, but not smart enough. I know many have wondered if Zi Cui and my old assistant are the same person, or even if Zi Cui is me. Just like you, but why didn’t they do as you, do you know?” With a pause, Hong Kongque continued, “Because they are smarter than you. They are smart enough to know that they should be nosy in the name Hong Kongque.”

Qin Chengen looked at the person sitting in front of him before speaking,

“So, what are you going to do, kill me or what? Do you think the Qin family will stay quiet?”

“Calm down, Young Master Qin. I haven’t said anything about killing you yet. No need to rush to die now.” Hong Kongque said with a smile, “I have a good offer for you. Has anyone ever told you what to do when meeting Hong

    Kongque?”

“Stop beating around the bush and just say it.” Qin Chengen spoke with a harsh voice, making Hong Kongque sigh heavily, “Darn, should parents stop teaching their children about Hong Kongque?” When he finished speaking he sighed before looking down at the person who was sitting in front of him.

“Young Master Qin. Let’s come to an agreement and do business together. If you pass my test, I will join your business and give you a share in mine. I’ll tell you right now that I have shares in oil, satellites, telephones… Let’s see if you pass the test first. I think it’s too much time wasted to explain now. In short, all the businesses of the Qin family will be combined. I still don’t want to get blindsided, so this is your best opportunity.”

“All right, what do I need to do?” Qin Chengen asked with a hint of impatience. Hong Kongque pointed to a container with red hot charcoal, with three iron rods inserted inside, before continuing, “You must show respect to me… Take those irons and write the words ‘Hong Kongque’ on your left calf beautifully. I have a template to show you.”

The man stood with a picture frame hanging on the wall with the words Red

Peafowl in Chinese, which had been placed in front of Qin Chengen’s. The young man’s eyes widened in shock. He grabbed a piece of steel and held it in his hand, moving it close to his lower leg with a trembling motion before exclaiming, “Hong Kongque you vile scum!!!”

“Mister Zi.” Qin Nan immediately greeted when he saw a young man in his twenties stepping out of the black limousine. Zi Cui nodded. He was dressed in a black suit, looking stern, “Hong Kongque would like to express his condolences for the accident involving your son.”

Qin Nan nodded quietly, “It’s okay. Mister Zi, your employer…”

Zi Cui raised his head to look at him before speaking calmly, “Let’s consider the matter closed between Hong Kongque and the parties involved. Mister Qin, you don’t have to worry anymore. Whatever Hong Kongque says, let it be.”

Qin Nan just nodded again, letting tears fall down. As Zi Cui walked away to pay respects to the deceased.

    “Kongque.”

Zi Cui, who had just walked away from the funeral, turned to look at the person calling him. He then dragged him to a corner away from prying eyes before frowning and asking, “Who told you to address me like that?”

The person being scolded frowned in response, “Uh… I really can’t get used to your dressing style.”

Zi Cui lowered his head to look at his outfit and then smiled, “I think I dress appropriately.”

“Uh… I really wonder if you secretly put needles to pull your rooster’s hair under that wig.” The person provoked, trying to pull out Zi Cui’s hair and could hear a loud clapping sound.

“You! Pengpeng! You should know best that my face doesn’t have any wrinkles at all.”

“I’m not stupid enough to forget about it.” Lu Yipeng retorted to Zi Cui or Hong Kongque, and then continued speaking.

“And what is inspector Lu doing here? Are you friends with Qin Chengen or something?” The man in the black suit who was questioned, shook his head, “Do you think I dress like this for funerals or something?”

Hong Kongque glanced at the young police officer from head to toe, Lu Yipeng, who was wearing a white t-shirt, dark colored jeans, and a pair of old sneakers. Hong Kongque paused and then continued, “You look okay enough, but you still don’t look old enough.”

Lu Yipeng shrugged casually before immediately speaking, “Alright. You’re involved in this accident, aren’t you? Qin Chengen wouldn’t drive straight into the sea without reason.”

“Uh…” Hong Kongque cried out and made a pitiful face, “What do you see me as, Zhuge Liang? How will I know who will die and when?”

“I don’t know about others, but I think it’s you. You’re definitely involved.”

Hong Kongque made a doubting face, looking at Lu Yipeng as if seeing something strange, “Evidence? An alibi? Nowadays, do police officers need to accuse people without evidence?”

Lu Yipeng gritted his teeth before speaking through clenched teeth, “One day

I have to find out for sure. You watch out.”

Hong Kongque stared at the young police officer for a moment before raising his hand to grab the chin of the other person, “Come live with me, will you? You stay with me twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. I guarantee you’ll have solid evidence.”

Lu Yipeng brushed Hong Kongque’s hand away, looking disgusted, “I have other things to do, than being your sex slave.”

Hearing this, Hong Kongque chuckled, “Well, do you need me to escort you?”

“No need. I came with a friend.” replied Lu Yipeng immediately. Hong Kongque’s face showed a hint of disappointment, “Pengpeng, visit me at the office tomorrow. I want to see the peafowl on your thigh.”

“I’m not free.” Lu Yipeng answered bluntly. Hong Kongque nodded,

“Alright, then Sunday. I’ll have someone pick you up at work.”

The young police officer turned to him immediately, “No need. I’ll go myself at five in the evening, a little late. No need to send anyone to pick me up.”

Hong Kongque chuckled before waving goodbye, “See you later, Pengpeng.”

Lu Yipeng walked away without even looking back, leaving Kongque behind to stare after him.

“Kongque…” a voice called out from the old butler of the house, causing Hong Kongque, who had just come out of the bathroom, to smile.

“Sorry for the delay.” Hong Kongque continued, as the butler nodded his head, “No problem at all, everyone is working hard together. And this situation isn’t too serious.”

“Um.” Hong Kongque nodded, “Go rest, I’ll close the door myself.”

“Alright…” The seventy-year-old man said, before walking out of the room.

Hong Kongque walked to the door, locked it, and then sat on the bed.

    Sunday…

Note: Let’s not think about Hong Kongque’s age, forget about it hahaha

          THE RED PEAFOWL CHAPTERS HOME

  • REDPEAFOWL, Chapter 2: Hong Kongque

    REDPEAFOWL, Chapter 2: Hong Kongque

       REDPEAFOWL, Chapter 2: Hong Kongque

No one knows why Hong Kongque calls himself Hong Kongque (Red Peafowl).

Even Lu Yipeng himself doesn’t know, and doesn’t want to know. No matter what others may think Hong Kongque is. For Lu Yipeng, it’s a form of spiritual enlightenment, a big one indeed.

“Oh, Brother Lu, you are not swimming today?”.

Lu Yipeng turned and smiled at the junior who greeted him. He was now at the police department’s swimming pool, where an incident had occurred four years ago. Lu Yipeng used to frequent the place, but it had changed now.

“I’m here on business, I’ll be leaving soon.” Lu Yipeng replied, and walked out of the pool. He had come to talk to a junior about a case. He overheard the junior talking to a friend in a low voice, “It’s weird. Brother Lu usually loves swimming, but when the incident with the Red Peafowl happened four years ago…”

Lu Yipeng didn’t want to hear anything more than this, so he quickly walked out.

    Red Peafowl…

Detective Lu Yipeng felt a sharp pain on the scar on his calf and got on it immediately. It was definitely just a reminder of the past. The scar had been there for many years, and it probably didn’t hurt much anymore. Except for the pain that was deeply embedded in his soul.

Thinking about Hong Kongque’s face made him feel the urge to kill come immediately, but Lu Yipeng knew that Hong Kongque was not someone that anyone could easily kill. Even if he had lost all clothes and was naked without a weapon, Hong Kongque was still alive and kicking.

Four years ago, Hong Kongque had given him something that made him uneasy. Besides the scars, there were also annoying and frustrating incidents that followed. One such incident was when Lu Yipeng stopped swimming. Why, you ask? Who would want to show off their scarred legs like this? This Red Peafowl was a clear symbol of him being Hong Kongque’s property. No one in the department knew about it, everyone just knew that he had survived

Hong Kongque’s grip for many years. As for the scars, it would be better to die first, no one would ever see them.

For the past four years, Lu Yipeng had thought about removing the scar. Or at least adding more scars, so he could erase the name Red Peafowl from his leg. However, Hong Kongqu had a psychological illness that made him enjoy looking at the scars on his leg excessively. He even insisted on asking if it still looked good. So he had to swallow his pride and keep the scar as a pass to meet Hong Kongque in his realm.

“Hey buddy, are you going back home now? Want to go hang out in town together?” A classmate greeted him. As he was about to get in the car, Lu

Yipeng turned and smiled at his friend, “No, I have to hurry home.”

“There’s a big celebrity event in the city today. Aren’t you going?” His friend insisted. The invited person still shook his head, “I have urgent work to do.”

“Always so busy…Take some time off once in a while. I’ll keep a spot for you.” With that, his friend nodded and got into the car.

If it were four years ago… He would have jumped into the pool, then hurried to go clubbing with his friends. Because that damn name Red Peafowl (Hong Kongque) on his leg was real.

After being branded by his own hand, Lu Yipeng dared not go swimming anymore. He had to stop having sex temporarily, afraid that someone would see the scars. If he had to, he would just pull his pants down. Let Hong Kongque handle that kind of nonsense alone! Most importantly, after being tricked by Hong Kongque into a sexual encounter a few years ago, he lost interest in women altogether. What the heck did that person use on him?

Lu Yipeng slammed his hand on the steering wheel in frustration before driving home angrily. But while driving on the road, he felt like someone was following him. A young police officer slowed down his car beside him and saw two black cars following him. One car parked in front of him, while the other parked behind.

Lu Yipeng remained in his car. If he dared to embrace each other in the middle of this crowded highway, he would. He agreed to embrace, but when he saw the person stepping out of the car, the young man immediately cursed in his heart.

“Hello, Inspector Lu.” The tall, scarred man greeted him. Lu Yipeng immediately recognized him as one of Hong Kongque’s servants, named Little Zhi.

“I apologize for the other day.” Lu Yipeng replied. Little Zhi shook his head, then continued, “ Boss sent me to invite you to the mansion.”

The young police officer looked visibly distressed and quickly responded, “I have urgent matters and need to return home. Thank you, and please tell your boss that I’m not really available.”

Little Zhi said nothing but picked up the phone, recounted Lu Yipeng’s words without missing a beat, and then spoke to the young police officer.

“You said he’ll be waiting at your home then.”

Lu Yipeng tried to calm himself and smiled before responding, “I just received a message that the meeting is postponed. I’ll go to him at the mansion later.”

Little Zhi nodded, smiled, and then went back to the car, while Lu Yipeng thought about breaking Hong Kongque’s bones in his mind. He still vividly remembered what happened last time when Hong Kongque came to his house.

“Oh… Little Pengpeng I have been waiting for.”

Lu Yipeng frowned at the term that slipped out of the mouth of the man in the white shirt matched with another brownish-red blazer. This time, Hong

Kongque had no Paechikchik stuck on his finger, but instead, he had a glass of whiskey in its place.

“What’s the matter?” Lu Yipeng asked with a slight raise of his eyebrow, then continued, “The calcium I gave you yesterday. Did you not take it?”

Lu Yipeng thought about the box of calcium that had been sent to the forensic department. Once he found out there was nothing messed in it, he left it there. He had no intention of retrieving it back. Who would want to go pick up that stuff from that guy anyway?

“I didn’t forget about the calcium.” The young police officer replied.

“Well then, try to look more cheerful than this. You haven’t even reached fifty or sixty years old yet.” Hong Kongque said, shifting in his seat and pouring another glass of whiskey. A servant quickly walked over to bring the glass to Lu Yipeng.

“Have a drink with me.” Hong Kongque said as Lu Yipeng eyed the glass of whiskey in his hand warily.

“What else did you add to it?” Lu Yipeng asked.

Hong Kongque shook his head, looking as serious as ever, “Can you see what I’m adding to it?”

Lu Yipeng looked at him for a moment before shaking his head, “I’d rather not drink, to avoid any complications.”

“Surely…” Hong Kongque asked again, and Lu Yipeng nodded, “I don’t want to be drugged by you again.”

Hong Kongque raised his finger to his head before letting out a sigh,

“Pengpeng, you really like using hard words.”

Before Lu Yipeng could finish his sentence, he was grabbed by two big men in police uniforms. He was then smacked hard in the back, and the image in front of him faded away.

The sound of ice hitting the glass made the young police officer snap out of it. He blinked while feeling a dull ache at the back of his head where he had been hit. He heard someone talking above his head, “Are you awake yet?”

Lu Yipeng suddenly got up and found that his body was almost naked… almost. Luckily, there were swim trunks on.

    Swim trunks?

The young policeman turned back to look at the person sitting behind him, Hong Kongque, half sitting half lying on a long chair. He was holding a glass of brightly colored liquor and had a secretive smile on his face as usual.

“Do you like it? I just changed you into a new swimsuit, so I wanted to see you swimming. You look really sexy in that swimsuit.”

Lu Yipeng glanced at the person speaking before immediately standing up.

He didn’t want to imagine what state he was in before waking up. He didn’t want to imagine what his body had been through while unconscious.

“Headache?” Hong Kongque asked when he saw the young man’s face, “This is… If you agree to drink and get drunk, it’ll be over. I’m not going to kill you, I just want you to stay quiet, that’s all.”

“I’ll leave.” Lu Yipeng said while turning and walking out immediately.

Hong Kongque raised a finger to his head and then spoke briefly, “Inchen,

    Qingheng.”

Two black Velociraptor-like rottweilers, almost as tall as the ankles, rushed towards Lu Yipeng immediately. Before they could pounce at Lu Yipeng, they stopped in their tracks and turned to look back at Hong Kongque, who was sitting there smiling.

“What would you do next, Pengpeng, go for a swim, or wrestle with Inchen and Qingheng?” Hong Kongque said casually, sipping his liquor in the glass. Lu Yipeng hesitated to look at the two dogs that were about to attack, knowing that a simple command might make them jump on him. Finally, the young man gritted his teeth, “Fine. I’ll go swimming. You can call your dogs back now.”

Hong Kongque smiled broadly before speaking again, “Inchen, Qingheng, come here.”

The two dogs, who were about to bite the young man, immediately perked up and ran towards their master. Hong Kongque grabbed a biscuit from the plate on the table and threw it to them, each getting two pieces with a satisfied expression. Lu Yipeng was reluctant to continue watching, so he jumped into the pool and swam away.

Hong Kongque probably didn’t want him to see too much in the mansion, so this time he dealt with him to knock him out. Lu Yipeng began to think that next time he should prepare some sleeping pills to avoid worrying about encountering anything worse than sleeping pills, but it wasn’t certain. This peafowl guy might have injected something into him while he was unconscious.

Lu Yipeng swam two rounds before stopping at the edge of the pool and looked up towards the sky. He could see that this must be a part of the luxurious constellation that was now visible, as tonight was a full moon. He could see the constellation more clearly than usual, but he didn’t hope to know anything more about it. Lu Yipeng gazed at the moon for a while before turning back to look at the pool, where he saw Hong Kongque sitting holding a glass of wine, staring at him with interest. He thought about wanting to really pluck out his eyes.

“Well well. Not joining me for a swim?” Lu Yipeng said with a gracious smile, inviting Hong Kongque to join him in the pool. Even though he was sure that Hong Kongque would refuse to get into the pool, he knew that his masculinity would surely be questioned if he declined.

“Do you want me to come down and swim together?” The man was asked with a smile, to which Lu Yipeng quickly nodded, though he still felt a prick to be called that name again.

“I want you to come down and swim with me. I’ve never seen you take off your shirt before.”

Hearing Hong Kongque chuckle, “Do you want to see me naked or… dream on, Little Peng.”

Lu Yipeng almost immediately thought of something, was it that Hong Kongque would not know how to swim. Lu Yipeng thought that if he could trick him into getting into the water, he might have a chance of catching Hong

Kongque and taking him to be questioned at the lodge. The servants wouldn’t dare do anything then. Thinking so, Lu Yipeng smiled and continued.

“Kongque, are you not coming to swim with me? If I see you undressing once, I might be charmed by you.”

Hong Kongque almost choked on his drink. He quickly swallowed it and chuckled, “Persistent, be careful, I might bite my tongue.”

Lu Yipeng pursed his lips and stared at him, his cheeks turning slightly red before swimming to the other side. Hong Kongque let out a sigh and lifted his glass to take another sip.

“Come on.” Lu Yipeng called to him again as he swam back, “Join me. I want to hug you now.”

Hong Kongque raised his hand to cover his mouth after almost choking out the wine through his nose, “Pengpeng, please. I’m not ready to choke to death.”

Lu Yipeng looked at him in dismay. This time the young man’s cheeks turned bright red, not just from exerting himself, but because Hong Kongque could hear his own heart pounding.

    Damn…

Lu Yipeng felt restless and embarrassed, not wanting to mention the reason. He tried to think of words of apology and repentance, thinking that someone like Hong Kongque must have fallen into the pool, but he forgot that it was Hong Kongque. Even if he was ten people, that guy would not easily fall for it.

Besides, even if he didn’t fall for it, there were plenty of others who would. Thinking this way, Lu Yipeng felt sorry for himself. So he resolved to swim, thinking that in a little while, Hong Kongque would be satisfied and call him up himself.

Why did he have to do something like this?

Lu Yipeng emerged from the water with anger, but when he looked up from the water, he had to stop in shock. He found Hong Kongque standing on the pool’s edge with a mysterious smile on his face.

“I don’t usually take off my clothes in front of anyone.” Hong Kongque replied before pulling off his wet shirt. The brown-red shirt slid down to the floor, revealing his fair skin, which seemed to glow under the moonlight.

Lu Yipeng stood, fascinated, above the slender white legs. The tight red swimming trunks and the strong waistband with red stripes protruding from the back.

“Do you really want to hug me, or maybe?” Hong Kongque whispered softly before sitting down at the edge of the pool and stretching out his feet.

“Kongque…” Lu Yipeng called softly, extending his hand and holding the tip of Hong Kongque’s toe, then bringing it to his mouth, Hong Kongque sighed with satisfaction as the other person kissed all over his foot as if casting a spell. Then slowly licking along the soft flesh between his toes, creating a pleasing tingle.

Hong Kongque closed his eyes in enjoyment, allowing Lu Yipeng to deal with his own toes with his mouth. Then his body fell into the water instantly.

The sound of splashing water spread loudly around Lu Yipeng, confident that this time Hong Kongque would have to swallow a lot of water. He was dragged down so quickly that he couldn’t even stand up like this. Even if a swimmer had to dive, they would still suffocate, but it turned out that they were wrestling in the water for a long time and he himself was taking in a lot of water. Plus, he was almost running out of air before emerging from the water, almost suffocating to death.

The young policeman sighed heavily as he emerged from the water before coughing until his face turned red. When he turned around, he saw Hong Kongque standing and smiling in the pool.

“Were you going to drown me to death?” The person asked Lu Yipeng who had tears welling up in his eyes as they spoke, “Do you know how to swim?” The young police officer interrupted Hong Kongque with a raised eyebrow. “Well, yeah, I can swim. When did I tell you I couldn’t?”

Lu Yipeng felt his mouth go dry as if he had been cursed. He looked at Hong Kongque again, then coughed and he heard a chuckle from that direction,

“Don’t tell me that you thought I could not swim so you dragged me into the water like this?”

The person being questioned didn’t respond, but instead turned their face away, “I’m going home now.” Speaking swiftly, they swam to the ladder to get out of the pool, with Hong Kongque swimming after them, “Hey, you said you wanted to hug me.”

“You pushed me into the water. I’m not in the mood.” Lu Yipeng replied curtly, hearing Hong Kongque let out a sigh, “The moral standards of the Hong Kong Police Department are easily compromised. You just choked on water and became afraid.”

Lu Yipeng turned back slowly before speaking, “I’m not afraid.”

“Then come back to the pool.”

The young police officer hesitated before finally agreeing to come back down into the pool. Then Hong Kongque swam towards him, pushing him against the pool’s edge.

“You make me feel excited to watch.”

“Um…” Lu Yipeng cleared his throat before finally speaking slowly, “Why… why did you not come to swim with me from the beginning?”

“Do you really want me to swim with you?” The person being questioned replied, trying to control their emotions, and then explained slowly, “Even if I want to or not, you wanted to do it to me already, why do you have to wait for me to say so, or do you want to tease me?”

Once they reached this point in the conversation, Lu Yipeng felt his face blush immediately, and he hurriedly turned to the other side, hearing Hong

Kongque chuckle softly, “Well, actually. I didn’t think of it that way. I just didn’t want anyone to see the Red Peafowl on my back.”

    “?”

“When you blush like that, you look cute.” Hong Kongque said, leaning in closer, causing Lu Yipeng to blush even more and quickly turn away.

“Just a second, did you say red Peafowl on the back? Do you have the Red

    Peafowl tattoo on your back?”

“Yeah…” Hong Kongque cleared his throat and continued, “If you kiss me until I am satisfied, then. I will let you see it once.”

The black eyes of both met for a pause. Before Hong Kongque let out a sigh,

“Come on. I don’t mind.” He said, and leaned down to bite the neck of the other person, Lu Yipeng, who gasped in surprise before pressing his face in for a kiss.

The tips of their tongues entering aggressively made Hong Kongque quickly wrap his arms around the other person’s face, pulling it closer. The lips of both collided violently, until a heavy sigh was heard. Lu Yipeng pushed Hong

Kongque’s body towards the edge of the pool, pressing another hot passionate kiss, before pushing their bodies down to the ground. The sound of a heavy sigh echoed in the room. After both parties separated their lips.

“Let me see your Red Peafowl.” Lu Yipeng said with flushed lips and face.

Hong Kongque’s face showed a small smile before he turned away.

A large red peafowl displaying its beauty on a clean white backdrop. Its tail feathers extended down around Hong Kongque waist, and probably long enough to reach the front part of the crotch area.

“Hong Kongque…” Lu Yipeng mumbled, before leaning in closer to the figure, “Your Red Peafowl is so beautiful, why don’t you want anyone to see it.”

“I’m afraid someone will fall in love with it instead of me.” Hong Kongque replied with a smile, and Lu Yipeng only responded with a chuckle, “Even if you have no tattoos, I won’t fall for you.”

Hearing the other person chuckle, Lu Yipeng leaned in again. Then their lips met once more, as Lu Yipeng pressed both of Hong Kongque’s arms against the edge of the pool, kissing all over the white backdrop and around the red peafowl.

The couple made love in the water, hearing the sound of splashing water alternating with moans and sighs. The red peafowl on Hong Kongque’s back  trembled to the rhythm of their passionate lovemaking, as if about to move on its own. Lu Yipeng kissed the white skin once again, before pressing his face against the neck that was emitting soft moans, engaging in another passionate kiss.

    Red Peafowl…

Lu Yipeng was almost exhausted to death before Hong Kongque would be satisfied. He leaned against the edge of the pool, letting the other person massage his body without being able to resist. He heard Hong Kongque whisper,

“Pengpeng, please be my companion until dawn. I don’t like full moon nights.”

Lu Yipeng struggled to open his eyes. He thought he should be able to go back now, but what he felt was the silver moon shining brightly in the sky, and a delicate touch on his body. Before the whole scene faded away.

“Lu Yipeng, when did you leave the deserted island?” asked a younger sibling as Lu Yipeng walked into the department. The young man raised one eyebrow before replying, “This morning.”

He then walked straight to the table, where many case files were stacked.

“Inspector, how did the investigation go?” another younger policeman walked in to ask. Before Lu Yipeng could sit down, he gestured to hold.

    “Just give me a moment.”

The woman nodded, placing two thick case files on the table, “A Douhou case.”

“Um, I’ll leave them there.” Lu Yipeng said, raising his hand to his head as the younger police woman walked out.

    That annoying peafowl!

Lu Yipeng woke up the next morning to find himself lying on a bed he had never seen before. Looking more closely, he saw a large birdcage in front of him. Then Hong Kongque walked in, ready with instructions to feed the birds for ten minutes before Lu Yipeng realized where he was. As he opened the door and saw the vast ocean outside.

What kind of a deserted island is this? A different world on the island where Hong Kongque kept birds!

Lu Yipeng vowed to himself that he would not stay another night at Hong

Kongque’s mansion. The host forced him to feed the birds for three days in exchange for detailing the case he was investigating. Sometimes Lu Yipeng seriously wondered if Hong Kongque was involved in these cases, but until he had evidence to arrest the doctor, it was impossible. Besides, he had nowhere defeated that guy, but one day he will drag that guy into prison.

    One day…one day soon.

       REDPEAFOWL, Chapter 1: Lu Yipeng

“Inspector Lu. I have something to discuss with you in private. Can I have five minutes of your time?”

Lu Yipeng looked up to the person approaching him. He was examining the evidence from the casino cleanup case last week. The person who walked in was none other than Chen Qian, the current police chief.

“Of course.” Lu Yipeng agreed, dismissing the younger siblings who were working there to leave.

“Do you know the details of the case involving the murder of Miao Xiaodong? How much do you know about it?” Chen Qian started asking, still standing. Lu Yipeng shook his head, “That case, Captain Fan Dong, is responsible for that.”

“Um … yes. He just told me himself that this case may be related to the Red Peafowl.”

The black eyes of Lu Yipeng widened as he got on immediately.

“Inspector Lu, I know this may be a bit too delicate for you, but the case of the murder of Miao Xiaodong is a big deal. You are the only one who survived from the Red Peafowl, and successfully closed the case four years ago. I want you to help one more time… I’ve heard that Hong Kongque himself will welcome you well, like a brother.”

“I don’t know about that.” Lu Yipeng replied bluntly, “You just sent me to find him last month, and now you want me to go again?”

“Please help me, inspector. If the case can be closed without relying on Hong Kongque, I wouldn’t have to ask you. I don’t want to keep him around too, but you know, isn’t it true that Hong Kongque is someone who can do anything.”

“He’s just like you.” Lu Yipeng answered, before letting out a sigh in an unmoved manner, “I will go find him, someday on Thursday. He’s not free to meet me every day.”

“Please do.” Chen Qian said, then turned around to sleep. Lu Yipeng sighed heavily again.

“Hey Inspector Lu, is there another unresolved case this month?” a cheerful voice greeted as Lu Yipeng walked into the room. The man was sitting on a burgundy leather chair, holding a large white cockatoo in his hand. He was feeding it something with a playful expression.

The Red Peafowl has been interpreted by society in various ways. Some say it is a secret organization that conducts illegal business activities, while others say it is a gang of thugs who ruthlessly kill people. There is even a rumor that the Red Peafowl has immortal leaders and must be supernatural beings.

If asked what Red Peafowl is, Lu Yipeng would probably point to the man in front of him and say, “He maybe a crazy unnerving guy, but Hong Kongque is not a crazy unnerving person.” and Lu Yipeng still carries the scars of the injuries on his legs with pain.

“Is the Red Peafowl on your leg still beautiful, inspector? Let me see.”

“You just saw it last month.” Lu Yipeng said, hearing the playful tone of the person, “No, stop it, don’t be childish. You’re almost thirty now. Let me see. I don’t have the chance to see it every day like you.”

Lu Yipeng frowned slightly before taking off his long pants, revealing a fresh red scar at the inside of his thigh.

“Hmm… a Red Peafowl indeed, your legs are truly beautiful. You’re not wearing those bikini briefs this time, are you? What a shame. Put on your pants now, or Paechikchik will be shocked by your pale legs and fly away from me again.”

Paechikchik, the white-winged bird, was now staring intently at Lu Yipeng. The young man, twenty-seven years old, pulled up his pants after fastening his belt. After finishing brushing his hair, he looked up at the man once more.

The man was still seated on the chair, holding the white-winged bird. The sunlight filtered through the curtains revealing his full and handsome face; sharp eyebrows, clear narrow eyes, chiseled cheekbones, prominent nose bridge, and thin lips. These features combined to create his strikingly handsome Chinese appearance.

“Didn’t you look in the mirror when you combed your hair?” Lu Yipeng greeted him before raising his hand to touch his own hair. The servants standing nearby handed him a comb and mirror.

“You’re quite observant, Lu Yipeng.” The man replied after finishing combing his hair, “I must have had a bit too much to drink last night. So, what brings you here today?”

“I’m here about the murder case of Miao Xiaodong.” Lu Yipeng said, gesturing towards the man seated on the chair.

“No way, Little Yipeng, what do you think the Red Peafowl is? A know-it-all or something? Tell me the details. I’ve been busy with the oil business recently and haven’t had time to read the news.”

Lu Yipeng looked at the man in front of him with an expression of disbelief but proceeded to tell him some details of the case.

“Hmm… with all that I’ve been dealing with, I didn’t know about this…” The man calling himself the Red Peafowl raised his hand to his chin in thought, then spoke up.

“Have you asked the Ungang gang about this?”

As soon as the man finished his sentence, the person being questioned stopped combing his hair and spoke up, “I think the Ungang Gang is involved in this.”

“You must be crazy. The Ungang gang has nothing to do with the investigation. They’re not suspects at all.”

“Have you asked them yourself? Maybe they’re behind this.”

“No way. The Ungang gang is not involved in this matter, they are not even suspects at all.”

“Because of this, you can’t close the case, can you?” Hong Kongque answered with a smile, “If you know how they are involved, I guarantee you can close the case for sure.”

Lu Yipeng frowned in thought, looking at all the evidence. There was nothing substantial to link to the suspects. Even if it was Hong Kongque saying it, just words from a lunatic like him, who would believe it?

“Oh… Your reasoning is truly questionable. There is no evidence linking them to the suspects at all.” Hong Kongque rubbed his chin in thought once again before glaring at the police officer in front of him.

“Last time, you hurt Little Zhi. I truly wonder how a police academy graduate like you received honors.”

“Alright. I admit that I made a mistake. Is there something else you want to tell me about this case? If not, I will be leaving.” Lu Yipeng said irritably as Hong Kongque raised his finger to his head before standing up. The waiting servant then came to escort Paechikchik away.

“I have a little time left. I will take you to find evidence related to the suspects.” With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Lu Yipeng startled,

    “Wait. It’s not necessary.”

After that, he was pushed by the servants of Hong Kongque to follow along.

The address of the mansion was by the sea, and judging from the picture seen, it would probably cost around a hundred million coins, but Lu Yipeng thought its value must be more, considering the secret chambers and hidden passageways within the mansion. He was now walking with Hong Kongque into the mansion, still unsure where they were headed.

“I might need to change my clothes a bit. It’s not suitable to go in like this.” Hong Kongque mentioned, gesturing to his burnt brown suit jacket, “You

should change as well. That outfit looks too noticeable.”

Lu Yipeng looked down at his suit jacket, but before he could say anything, he was pushed into a room.

Hong Kongque is a man of average build, standing at around 177-178 centimeters tall. He has neat black hair that is always swept to the side. He appears to be in his late twenties to early thirties, but according to Lu Yipeng, he has been in the industry for over thirty years. Another thing, when he first met Hong Kongque four years ago, the man had the same appearance and four years later, that face has hardly changed at all. Well, it would be better to say that it hasn’t changed at all, but Lu Yipeng is sure that Hong Kongque is just an ordinary human who probably has a way to take care of his health better than others.

Denying help would be detrimental, so one of Hong Kongque’s servants helped him remove his old clothes and brought new ones to replace them. When he saw himself again, he was wearing a black and green football team printed Tshirt with denim jeans that fit him perfectly. Even the sneakers that were brought to him fit him perfectly as well. As he stepped out, he found Hong Kongque waiting for him.

Apart from the subtle smile on his face, the person in front of him looked like just another car racing enthusiast.

“You look good, for a change.” Hong Kongque said, then took the cap off Lu

Yipeng’s head without asking. The young man pulled it back with a displeased look, only to see Hong Kongque holding another cap in his hand.

“Alright, let’s go out for a motorcycle ride.”

Lu Yipeng has been working as a police officer for five years so catching street racers is not something new to him. Although he has not been doing this job for long, he has seen enough street racers to know which ones are trouble. The problem is that he is now riding a motorcycle that he suspects belongs to the boss of the street racing gang.

Hong Kongque led him through the winding streets of the district until they reached a dark alley. At the entrance, there were several motorcycles parked, all heavily modified and clearly well-used. They were not for show. He then invited him to ride one of the motorcycles, and they set off until they emerged on the highway that connected the district, which was several kilometers away from the estate. Needless to say, Lu Yipeng had no idea how he ended up there, as the alley was dark, and the motorcycle rider was too fast. All he could do was hold on tightly to the steel frame of the bike and pray not to fall off.

The motorcycle journey, which was as rough as a street race, ended when Hong Kongque parked his motorcycle in front of a building that Lu Yipeng knew well.

Hongang gang is a mafia group that operates various forms of gambling, including legal and illegal football betting.

“I’ve bet everything. I won’t back down.” Hong Kongque said, patting his shoulder before walking into the building.

The football betting business of Hongang gang is quite chaotic. Especially in the middle of the night, but it is now midday, and most employees have gone out for lunch break, leaving only a few remaining.

Hong Kongque walked in. He raised his hand, brushed his hair, and then greeted the employees sitting in front of him, “I came to have lunch together, or is someone going to invite me.”

The person sitting at the table looked at him curiously, “You…”

“Shia Shen.” Hong Kongque answered, “Oh, I saw you at the market in district two the other day. Do you live around there?”

“Yeah, um…” The person responded hesitantly. Hong Kongque continued, “I just wanted to consult you, my younger brother wants to start a business, but you disappeared before I could talk to you.”

“I have to talk to the boss. I can’t decide on my own.”

“I just want some advice.” Hong Kongque said with a smile, “Do you think it’s good to open in district six?”

The person immediately shook his head, “Don’t do it yet. The boss in district six just got cleaned up. If you open it now, people will be suspicious.”

“What evidence do you have?” Lu Yipeng, who had been silent for a long time, asked the person sitting and frowned, “Where have you all been? Haven’t you heard anything? The case is going to be big.”

“Oh, there are so many killing cases these days; we won’t be able to know.

Also, no one seems to be involved here.”

“There won’t be any evidence. Your tactics are really too new. We were old hands in the industry before. He once worked with the boss for a while, then withdrew and secretly went to do his own thing, taking away our customers and even slandering the boss. Later, the boss took care of him by teaching his righteous older brother a lesson. Some things can’t be done to oneself. If you guys think about entering this industry, play it honestly. Otherwise, you’ll regret it.”

“Hmm… big brother, we are already very loyal.” Hong Kongque said with a smile on his face, “Thank you for the warning. I need to go consult with our new little brother about where to open.”

“District Eight.” The person sitting suggested, “They are in need of personnel.”

Hong Kongque nodded before turning back, “Little Xia, what do you think of District Eight?”

Lu Yipeng looked serious and hesitated before replying, “I’m not sure, big brother. I am not familiar with District Eight. I think it’s better if we go back for now.”

Hong Kongque looked disappointed and turned to apologize immediately,

“Alright, little brother, it seems he doesn’t want to fight too many people. It’s okay, thank you so much, big brother. I will take back my little brother and come back later.”

“Um.” The person sitting mumbled before lowering their head to focus on the work at hand, realizing that they had never heard the name  before. It had been several weeks since then.

“Miao Xiaodong is Xiao Baiheng’s adopted big brother.” Hong Kongque said as he rode his motorcycle, having heard Lu Yipeng’s reply through the wind, “I know.”

The person on the motorcycle chuckled, “If this case closes, it will be my half-good deed.”

Lu Yipeng cleared his throat, “Do you want anything else this time?”

“Just the usual.” Hong Kongque replied and turned the motorcycle onto another street.

“Why don’t you choose a better place than this?” Lu Yipeng asked as Hong

Kongque opened the door to enter an abandoned warehouse, “I can’t help here.

I’ll hurry back. This place is close to my home.”

“Why don’t you go back to your sanctuary then?” The young police officer still had doubts as Hong Kongque raised an eyebrow and smiled at him,

“Hmm… I get tired of the bed and table at the mansion.”

Lu Yipeng looked at the person standing in front of him. Then he swept his eyes around the warehouse. Besides the rough cement floor and the scattered wooden crates, there were only two old shipping containers.

“Do you want to do it?” He turned to ask, the person being asked shrugged again, “Pick one. I’m fine with whichever.”

Lu Yipeng swept his gaze once more before pointing to the container, “That one is fine. The floor seems clean enough.”

Hong Kongque chuckled in his throat, “Really love cleanliness, huh. A container is a container, the attitude is equally fine.”

Both walked side by side towards the container, but before they reached it, Lu Yipeng pulled Hong Kongque in for a hug. Then he began to caress his body.

“Today felt like role playing… naughty kids, huh.” Hong Kongque said, chuckling, while the other person lightly bit his ear.

Lu Yipeng continued to caress that figure and then leaned in to kiss the neck corner, before sliding his hands to caress the inner body of Hong Kongque, who stiffened for a moment before turning his face and whispering softly, “Kiss me a little.”

Lu Yipeng followed easily, as they were close to each other’s lips, the young man took out something small.

    !!!

Fast as lightning and before he could prepare a counterattack, Lu Yipeng’s back slammed into the container door. Then he heard a click above his head as

Hong Kongque stood smiling in front of him, “You really excite me, huh.”

He spoke, and caressed the face of Lu Yipeng who tried to pull his hand away, only to find that both his hands were locked by his own handcuffs on the container door handle.

“Hiding my handcuff key was a good advancement.” Hong Kongque praised, and brought his mouth close to the other person’s. Of course, this time, Lu Yipeng remained silent, but it didn’t make the other person upset.

Hong Kongque gently tapped his lips, then raised his face with a smile,

“Have you thought about it yet? If you catch me, what charges would you press?”

Lu Yipeng didn’t answer, but instead looked away, only to be pushed back by the other person, “You don’t want to catch me anymore. Always thinking about what to do next or not. I’ve been questioning the standards of the Hong Kong police academy’s students every time.”

“It has nothing to do with my school.” Lu Yipeng finally replied. He looked at the person in front of him with a sense of confusion that was difficult to explain.

“Still thinking about the Red Peafowl on your leg, huh?” The person being looked at asked, before smiling, “But I really like the Red Peafowl on your leg the most.”

Then the figure in front of him crouched down, and Lu Yipeng heard the sound of a zipper. Then his pants were removed.

“The Red Peafowl on your leg is really beautiful.” The person who held him captive spoke, running his fingers around the smooth, red-patch skin, before leaning in closer with the lips. The chuckle of the person standing nearby was heard, “Didn’t expect someone like Hong Kongque to come and make trouble for me like this.”

“Well.. you should be proud of it.” Hong Kongque said, pulling down Lu

Yipeng’s heart-shaped pants, “Maybe you should tell others what I did to you.”

Lu Yipeng let out a heavy sigh. His hands, which were being held above his head, began to struggle, while his lower body started to wriggle intensively.

“I’m gonna cum.” The young man spoke with a hoarse voice, as the other person sucked him off again while his two hands were shackled, before letting his lips go.

“I wonder if you’ll let me finish in your mouth again.” Lu Yipeng said, and was silenced by the lips. Then Hong Kongque pulled out a condom from his pants pocket.

“I’m curious about how you’re going to do this.” The other person said knowingly, seeing the face of the person who was locked up.

“Well… I’m really curious about that.” Lu Yipeng admitted, as Hong Kongque chuckled lightly and tore open the condom packet, “Just be careful not to let it spill on the way there, that’s all. Don’t worry about anything else.”

Lu Yipeng sucked in his breath as Hong Kongque put on the condom. Then the other person lowered his pants and moved closer.

The young man shuddered once again as the tip of the top penetrated into that secret passage. After wriggling a couple more times, every part of it disappeared until the length was gone, then he heard a chuckled in his throat satisfactorily.

Before Hong Kongque’s hand reached out to grab his hip, and then collided with his own hip.

Lu Yipeng growled in his throat, amid the groaning sound of the front body. The strong waist sections of both collided rhythmically. The moaning sound echoed far and wide, the young police officer squeezed his waist towards the hips that were intertwined. Before both bodies shook, along with the white fluid that the other person released.

Hong Kongque wriggled out, took off his own condom, and then turned to remove the other person’s condom, the drops of emotion released dripped down on the floor between them. He picked up the tissue paper from his pants pocket, wrapped those condoms in it before placing them on the shoulders of the tall figure still locked.

“Leave it.” Hong Kongque said, while pulling up his pants and looking at Lu

Yipeng, then he continued, “Let me go first.”

The person being abandoned raised his eyebrows, looking thoughtful, “That’s right, you probably haven’t figured out how to unlock it yourself yet. Um… you should probably try it now.” After speaking, Hong Kongque turned and made a gesture to walk away, as Lu Yipeng shouted.

    “Kongque!”

Hong Kongque paused for a moment before raising his hand to cover his ears,

    “What did you say?”

Lu Yipeng gritted his teeth before speaking again, “I said to let me go first.”

    “Did you call me?”

    “Um…”

    “Call me again.”

    “Kongque… Hong Kongque.”

Hong Kongque turned back, and a smile appeared on his face, “I like it when you say those three words for real, it’s a pity you don’t say them often.

Otherwise, you would definitely become Paechichik’s rival.”

Lu Yipeng tried to use all his patience to the maximum, “Let me go, please. I can’t unlock the key without you teaching me at all.”

Hong Kongque nodded and smiled satisfactorily, “When you talk to me in this way, I like it. But where is the key?”

“In my pants pocket.” Lu Yipeng said, bending down to look at the pile of pants near the young man’s feet. He then shook his head, “I don’t want to bend down to find something, or you might take the opportunity to kick me. It’s better this way.”

Hong Kongque moved his hand to the back. It was unclear what he was taking out. Then he raised his hand above Lu Yipeng’s head, and the handcuff key slipped out.

“Be careful.” Hong Kongque warned as he carefully wrapped a piece of paper with a thumbtack into Lu Yipeng’s hand. Before he could bend down to pick up the pants, the young police officer smiled in satisfaction, “Um… you taught me well, I must dispose of it correctly. Can’t just throw it anywhere!”

Hong Kongque hurriedly left, looking at his wristwatch, “I have to hurry, let’s go.” Then he pulled Lu Yipeng’s hand outside.

Lu Yipeng thought he would die because of Hong Kongque’s motorcycle speed, but in the end, both of them safely returned to the mansion. When they arrived, Hong Kongque quickly went to take a shower and change clothes. The young police officer was curious about what made someone like Hong Kongque in such a hurry, as he never saw him rush before. So, he waited at the reception room of Hong Kongque.

“Ready?” Hong Kongque asked, before stepping out. He changed into a white silk suit. When he arrived at the reception room, the servant brought Paechikchik to him immediately. The parrot immediately called his name,

“Kongque… Kongque.” Then, he squawked as if trying to communicate with Hong Kongque, as if he was special, almost like his own child.

“Calm down, Paechikchik, they are coming soon. Oh, there they are!” He exclaimed as the door to the reception room was opened by two servants. In one of the servant’s hands was a birdcage with a parrot inside.

    “What do you think, Paechik?”

After standing and enduring for a while, Lu Yipeng couldn’t help but ask, “Kongque, do you like it? Didn’t you say you were in a hurry, were you in a hurry to come and pick up the bird?”

Hong Kongque turned to look at him and smiled broadly, “You called my name again, sounds really good, huh… Yes. I came to welcome Little Pechikchik and his fiancé. It’s important, you know. So, are you leaving now?

Don’t drink auspicious alcohol first, okay.”

Lu Yipeng walked out of the hall hastily, ignoring Hong Kongque’s gaze that made him sigh.

“What’s with these young men these days, no matter how old they are, they still act immature.” He spoke, and handed Paechikchik to the servant to take to Con before giving orders.

“I’ll have someone buy some calcium to send to Little Yipeng, send it to his house. He wouldn’t want him to break down at work. Don’t forget to write a letter telling him that I’m worried.”

       REDPEAFOWL, Chapter 0: Prologue

The narrowed black eyes, still and serene, resembled the night sky in the dark moonlit night. They descended low towards the figure sitting cross-legged below.

At the front was a tall, sturdy young man tightly bound with ropes used for securing boats, and on his sides, there were two other large men standing guard. “Ah… you are the new undercover spy from the police department, right?” The person sitting on the leather chair covered in animal fur spoke in a playful tone as if talking to children, leaning forward to look at the person sitting crosslegged below.

“Let me see your face clearly for a moment.”

At the end of the sentence, the face of the young man was immediately forced to look up, and a chuckle could be heard, “Still so young, huh? How old are you, officer?”

“Twenty-three.” The person being held answered in a disinterested tone, not making the other person feel upset in any way. The person sitting on the chair continued to look down low, his pale face showing a smirk inviting one to get on, when combined with the still and serene eyes that were like sapphires. It exuded a mysterious charm that was indescribable.

“What’s his name?” The person sitting asked, one of the two guards standing guard responded.

“Lu Yipeng graduated from the Police Academy with first-class honors. Born on the xxth of xx, xx, joined the service in September xx last year. By the appointment of Feng Yi, the former Police Commissioner.”.

“Oh… well, well.” The person sitting on the chair chuckled, “My people have found good information indeed. Let me ask you, Officer… Lu Yipeng, when you received your honors, did your teacher ever teach you what a Red Peafowl is?”

Lu Yipeng did not answer the question, but instead changed the subject,

“Whatever you want to do with me, just go ahead and say it.”

The person sitting on the chair let out another smile before shifting slightly in the seat, the light shining down from the lamp above illuminated a tingling face, with shoulders neither too narrow nor too wide. In a white fur coat on top of a blood-red suit.

“Captain-Lu. I don’t really know what the person who sent you explained to you what Red Peafowl meant, but do you still want to go back to continue serving the police? No… Do you want to have a good relationship with the Red

    Peafowl?”

“What do you want?” Lu Yipeng asked the person sitting across with a smile,

“There’s nothing I want. I just want confirmation that you will show loyalty to the Red Peafowl. If you dare to show it to me, I will assist you with the case. But if not… I think the person who sent you must have told you about the person who came before you.”

As the speech ended, a steel basin with rust on it was lifted out, with three pieces of steel pipes of just the right size inserted. The person sitting then spoke.

“Captain-Lu. Can you write Red Peafowl correctly? I’m asking you for real. Can you write every stroke correctly or not? The person before you wrote one line off. So I had to make him lie with the fish in the Hong Kong Bay. I just found out that your police school does not focus much on writing anymore.”

Lu Yipeng looked at the person sitting in front of him. However, the dim light inside the room did not reflect clearly enough to see how the young man was looking, but it was definitely not with a loyal gaze.

“Alright. I have solved the problem. I will show you the way and you write accordingly.”

A picture-scroll rack was brought in, with three words written on it.

    Hong Kongque (Red-Peafowl)

“Release him.” The person seated gave the command, and the one standing beside untied the rope binding the ship, as soon as the rope slipped, Lu Yipeng jumped to attack the man sitting on the chair immediately.

No one in the room moved. Even the two men standing beside him did not budge. Lu Yipeng lunged towards the man sitting on the chair, clapping his hands on the throat covered with a white shirt. The mysterious smile of the man sitting on the chair appeared on his face.

As soon as Lu Yipeng felt his face was in the wrong direction and the image in front of him was skewed. Before his face hit the cement floor below with force, the coldness of the cement seeped into his skin rapidly.

“Ah … Captain-Lu. Are you illiterate or have you never learned anything?

Come on. I see that you are still a child, so I will forgive you this time.”

The same voice spoke again. Then Lu Yipeng noticed the smell of shoe polish, along with the polished leather shoes at the end of his sight which were presented to his chin.

“If you want to continue investigating, you should play by my rules. But if you no longer want to perform your duties, then indulge yourself… I have nothing to lose.”

Lu Yipeng recoiled before being dragged back to his original seat. The person on the chair continued speaking,

“On your left leg, Captain-Lu. The inside of your delicate thigh down there.

    Write it nicely.”

Lu Yipeng tore his own shoe off, revealing the clean, white, soft flesh hidden underneath. He then took a white cloth and bit into it, before grabbing the hot iron from the fire and pressing it onto his own thigh.

The smell of burnt flesh spread throughout the room as the young man pressed the hot iron onto his leg with his trembling hand. The person sitting there had eyes glistening faintly in the dim light, the three letters slowly appearing on the clean, white flesh:

    Hong Kongque (Red Peafowl)
